I was looking at one of these when I was at Telford and Paul was wafting it about under my nose. I resisted but have just succumbed as they are one of my favourite classes. Also a damn sight cheaper than the alternative offering from JLTRT models. This one is in brass where as JLTRT has a plasticky what's it type body shell. I'll post up pictures when it comes. Cheers Toto
No sign of me 22 yet. Looking forward to getting it as it is quite a detailed kit. C'mon postie ...... Extract thy digit.
Hoping this appears tomorrow as the detail is great. Can't wait to get a photo of this up. One of my favourite classes. I think I'll get brass name plates made up for it. " Norman " after my hero. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Cheers Toto

Hi Tom, From what I gather Steve Beattie kits are not for the faint hearted. Before embarking upon it I would suggest having a look on RM Web there was a build of one if these by a gent called Jordan who goes under the handle of F-UnitMad. I would estimate that you are probably at similar skill levels from what I have read. I found the thread, but sadly all the photos seem to be missing so after all that I am not sure whether it will be of any use - On the old RMWeb here Regards Rob
Thanks Rob. It would not be one of my first attempts I think. I have easier ...... Much easier. Give the seller his due, he included a copy of traction magazine which includes a four page article on the very same kit build. The magazine is from 2009 or something and you would swear it is straight off the press. It looks like a really remarkable kit with some fantastic detail. I'll check out the link that you provided as even a verbal walk through may be of some use. Thanks for posting up. Cheers Toto
Hi Rob, Had a quick look through the RMWeb article and even the commentary gives a few good hints at where potential trouble spots are. Still very useful. Turns out he was going of the same reference article that I have. Spot on.
And Toto once again proves the dictionary definition of restraint is totally wrong I'd put that one in the que somewhere near the scratch built loco you have yet to decide you have to make Lovely model, and looking forward to this one getting started - if I live that long Don't forget to order the wheels and motor, I wouldn't want the p[ostie holding up the build schedule Now if it had been a Class 29 that would be a different story. Maybe worth printing out the RMweb thread and adding it to your folder for the build. Paul
Paul, I still seem to remember something about restraint due to a planned holiday and xmas coming up... So assuming a 6 month build time per kit and the list of kits Toto now has, we should see this class 22 build around 2030
