Here is the black 5 running on its 6th lap which of course resulted in one of the wagons derailing at the end of the video.....

That's some very clever, and rather well executed work on those two points

A very nice space and interesting looking layout coming long nicely too.

    All the best
    Graham

Been busy with family stuff so not spent a lot of time on the layout.
Yesterday I was sorting out some polystyrene for the more scenic section of the layout.

    Cheers.
Modifying the points was a bit of "Squeaky bum time" as there was the risk of ending up with two duff points.

Looking at the locos sitting on the scenic section I can see the lean quite badly so a bit of card packing to level up the track is required.

Tested positive for C19 yesterday, a cough and sore throat so i'm isolating for 10 days.
Told the wife I will isolate in my railway room!

Oh, that ain't no good at all testing positive for C19... Hopefully you will recover quickly and importantly, get some good time in the railway room during recovery. Stay safe Andy.

    Cheers, Gary.

So I decided to try my own DIY sculptimold...
I bought 2.5Kgs of Plaster of Paris for £6 and a bag of small animal beding (Recycled paper shreds).
Mixed them up 50/50 and added water to the consistancy of cottage cheese.
    Here is the resulting landscape..

It is a bit thick and working time is about 15 minutes but I think it will be fine on this area as i'm going for the wild look here.
I suspect it will take several days to dry out.
So I have started scratch building a plate bridge for the river crossing.

This is made from 1mm thick plasticard and still requires plenty more work to get it looking the way I want.

Here is where i'm up to now. Brown/green base colour applied to the landform. My scratch built bridge is painted and rusted just waiting for weathering to finish it.

The rocky outcrops still need a black wash. Tried out a new method with the airbrush, Put some black paint in then some white and partially mixed it in the airbrush. As I was spraying the colour slowly vairied which resulted in what you can see on the road surface and the rocky areas. This was all done with one load of the airbrush.
Not sure if this is an established method as I just thought of it and gave it a try.

Looking along the riverbed. The road bridge has not been designed/decided upon yet.
