    Just made a video comparison of the layout from the bare baseboard start until now...

    Thanks guys, it is definetly a slow build - i'm in no hurry!
    The idea is build the basic scenery from one end to the other then return to the start and add detail.

    DIY dry stone stone walling made from 00 gauge ballast and No-nails adhesive, sprayed grey then a thin black wash.
    Now building up the greenery on the hillside.

    Lazy track cleaning with Dapol track cleaner and my DIY emery cloth track polisher wagon!

    Unfortunately it picks up what I want left there too, e.g. ballast, despite it being DCC speed controlled, it also frequently jams on loosened ballast as the motor is so weak, Jim :facepalm:

    Haven't had any issues with the hoover, the polishing pads are another story. Only cost me £50 with a bottle of fluid.

    Been continuing with engine shed area, installed point rodding for the manual point levers and a bit of ground cover behind the engine shed.

    Hi Andy, don't forget the space for filling gear, delivery tank wagon to tanks and tanks to locos :scratchchin:

    Delivery of diesel oil adds to your operational traffic.
