    To our new members.

I second the apology personally for any inconvenience in posting to the competition thread.

Please feel free to try again as the thread has now been opened correctly giving access to everyone.

I would also like to thank you all for taking the time to visit the Platform 1 guys and their layouts at what looked ( from the UK ) to be an absolutely fantastic exhibition.

We are delighted to have you on board with us and I wish you all the very best of luck in the competition itself.

Once again my full apology for any inconvenience.

    Toto

I hesitated to post because someone mentioned shaving. :twitch:

Hi P1MRC, I'm Aaron, or Veers is my common nickname. Which you may recognise as originating in The Empire Strikes Back.., so I'm a Star Wars guy if you haven't picked that up just yet.
I'm also a member of the Southern Cross Garrison of the 501st Legion, the worlds definitive Dark Side costuming organisation with over 10,000 members world wide, with the SCG being based here in NSW/ACT with over 100 members currently.
I'm a fan of our own 38 class locomotives, and Australian/English rail heritage in general. I haven't had a model set since Granddad passed away several years back, as he had a simple dual-track oval setup in the garage. I've got a theoretical design from my girlfriend (to include her in the hobby) that we'd love to do first, however in the long term, I'd love to do a scaled display of the Main North line, focusing on Sydney, the Hawkesbury and Newcastle.
Which after chatting to Gary about it, designing it as a small set similar to the layout that was on display. could work very very well. Rather than my grand scale/grand idea design which would take way to much space and be heavily scenery focused.

I think someone said short intro somewhere...

    Hi Veers

The small layouts or planks are a great way to hone your skills before starting a larger project.

Great picture, good luck in the competition.

    Hey guys

    Here I am with Jack

And here's some of my purchases from the weekend. Trainorama 48 Class were selling at a good price and I found a box of six S wagons to get a local goods started. It would have been rude to say no! I got my two other Powerline 48's out to compare. The Traino makes them look very average.

Runway 13 managed to leverage more cash out of me to buy a nice airbrush kit. I have a 1:35 scale Black Hawk kit waiting in my cupboard to be done up like my daily drive

Just got to get the man cave sorted and I'm off and running!

Thanks for running the comp, and getting us on-board! Congrats Reidy on winning the Diesel unit, maybe playing the train card was a smarter move than the star wars card. :p

Thanks for judging and writing the newsletter as well, Mr Toto. :)
