Taken last Friday 12th April. a first in heritage railways was visiting GBRF loco Class 69008 (formerly a Class 56 but re engines with the GM engine from a Class 66.) making its debut on a passenger train. note it had to be coupled to its family relative a class 47, as the 69’s (and same when 56’s) were air brake only, where as the heritage stock is the older Vacuum braked. The Class 47 acts as a kind of converter. Like old family friends. You can still see the dna heritage of these locos. Ready to depart with the 1130 service. Zack got a sit in the drivers seat of the DMU class 108. New resident loco formerly from Bass brewery was on the pay and play. Arriving in Matlock station, the other platform is served by the National Network and expecting a service from Derby. Matlock Riverside box. One of the Bridden owned Class 14’s.
