G'day Peter, Welcome aboard from Sydney. I'm guessing you were at Liverpool over the weekend and attended the Industry Lane/P1MRC stand. Great to have you on board with us. We have a great bunch of members here with experience in most facets of the hobby. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, as an answer won't be that far away. Looking forward to seeing your modelling, reading about your interests and also seeing what you have currently got going on the work bench. Enjoy. Cheers, Gary.
G'day, Hullaw rer, Thanks for the welcome. I was born in Scotland, Kirkintilloch near Glasgow but have lived most of my life in Sydney, Australia. I now live in the Snowy Valleys (western side of the Snowy Mountains). After a couple of false starts and a lot of armchair modeling I am finally about to embark on the construction of a layout. I am in the process of lining and insulating the shed (end bay of a four bay shed) to make it weather proof and dustproof. Hope to have something well under way by christmas. Not used to using forums except to search for answers to computer problems. Will have a good look around and join in the conversations later. Cheers, Peter
Good on you Peter, Another shed man.....good to hear it.!!! I started with an unlined garage originally. Decided to go for it and do a proper job. Now the train room in the garage is lined, painted, carpeted and has heating and aircon, a phone, TV and DVD player and VCR to watch my old train vids. If I get in trouble with the Missus I have a comfortable warm / cool dog house to go to........just needs a fridge and a toilet....although when you look out the door, it`s a big country with lots of trees, so the toilet is not absolutely necessary.????......a fridge would be nice though.?????....... http://www.clickGormo
I feel a new layout thread being born ...... Peter have a look at the planks and inglenook layouts in the layouts section. The concept is great for getting back into modelling. After a break of over 20 years myself, I found so much had changed, and a lot that hadn't, and wished I'd had a go at a wee test plank first, just to re-hone my skills (actually find some would be more acurate). Were good at armchair modelling on here as well and can play the devils advocate just to get you to question your plans, and offer advice as well. Looking forward to the progress updates Paul
