    My latest secret weapon

While in B&Q the other day I picked up a pair of dremel Abrasive buffs for a mere £5.99 for two

Only, I should have looked more carefully at the packaging and seen they needed speedclic mandrel, I didn't have one , never mind one is on order and will arrive later this week.

However while looking for the mandrel I came across these (don't you just love those helpful folks - algorithims at Amazon)

NIUPIKA 20 Pcs 3mm Abrasive Buffs Polishing Buffing Wheel Rotary Tool Grinding Accessories a pack of 20 for £7.98

Ordered yesterday, and arrived today. Short test running in my dremel 3000 at speed step 1 and the results are good.

I bought some off Amazon, 40 pieces, 4 different grades 80 145 240 300 grits for £11.They look ok, only trouble the collett on my Black and Decker mini drill is possibly worn and it won't grip the shaft on the sander tightly with the result, after using it for a few seconds, is it flys out of the chuck and disappears rapidly across the shed. I sent for an adjustable collet, unfortunately it doesn't fit my drill  so at the moment they are all just sat gathering dust.........

I decided to treat myself to a new Dremel on the back of my earlier purchases, I've been wanting, well needed, one as my Black and Decker mini drill is getting well knackered, I've had to tape the cord to the transformer as it had started cutting out in use, summat inside, but I couldn't find it. The collets are getting worn out and struggling to grip. I can't really grumble, I've had it for over 20 years and it was second hand when I bought it for a song! Hopefully it should be here tomorrow (Amazon Prime). I will let you know.

    Cheers, Pete.

Like you I also treated myself to a new dremel, my older 3001 is in the drill stand, and the new 3000 switches between standard mode and having the flexible drive attached.
On the drill stand I've upgraded the collet chuck to a three jaw chuck.

My polishing discs arrived, they look fine. I'll maybe try them out tonight ..... if I reach the shed. I also ordered some sanding discs of various grit levels. They should be here by Saturday.

    Cheers

Just tried mine out .... pretty Impressive. I now have half a shinnie boiler. :avatar:very quick you dont have to labour the task and nowhere near as aggressive as the other disks I've been using up until now.

I think the rougher versions to take solder down and the these disks for polishing.

Of course .... you actually have to add solder first to have a reason to use them. Something I need to get back into. :avatar: maybe tonight.
