During the recent exhibition at Rosehill Racecourse, the exhibition manager asked if I could provide a larger layout, so...., an O gauge layout was dreamt up. Basically I'll be using the three baseboards from my former Kelly Bray layout. Each board measures 60" x 20", resulting in a long narrow layout 180" long, 20" wide. The beauty of these three boards is that they will fit my wagon nicely, stacked upon each other. Some may say that 20" isn't wide enough for an O gauge layout, but with careful planning and the use of low relief buildings, I'm positive either of the plans below can be pulled off in a matter of no time. All the points will be on the middle and right hand side baseboard and they fit comfortably. This should make for an easy, quick build, as I have just under twelve months to complete... Or..., this with the extra long siding... Either plan would suffice, but I think the second plan has better operational abilities. It allows for cattle vans, meat vans and open wagons (waste product) and/or a tank wagon for the oils etc that need to be removed from site. Now, I will ask you folk, what do you think and is there any way of making an improvement ?? So, that's it for now... All I need now is several points, an O gauge loco and a bunch of wagons... Better get on to Hattons before we in Australia get taxed out ! Cheers, Gary.
