Scalescenes Box File Competition

With all the buzz around John Wiffen's (Scalescenes) new kit 'LY01 Industrial Boxfile Kit', Toto has announced a New Competition and it starts now...!

This competition is based around the new Scalescenes layout kit in a box. So ..... yes ..... it does need to be a box file layout as the kit was intended for.

There is one prize up for grabs which is a Heljan OO Scale Class 05 Hunslet locomotive in BR green with wasp stripes.

Now, the important bit.....

THE RULES...

1. The kit can be constructed in any scale which has been marketed on the Scalescene site and for what the kit has been intended for sale, N gauge and any variant of 4mm, ie OO, P4, EM etc.

2. You must stick with the parts as made available with the kit but they can be altered. For example,e, if you want to insert another door opening or window somewhere ...... feel free.

3. You can only use the doors and windows as supplied with the kit.

4. If you have the ability to change the colours of the kit through your own software medium, ...... that's allowed but only the colours, not the printed detail etc. The name of the game here is to encourage a bit imagination in the use of the kit parts made available.

5. You can completely change the layout of the diorama as long as you only use the parts available. You could for example cut parts shorter or use multiple repetitive printed parts to create a longer wall or roof section etc.

6. You can weather the buildings etc with the addition of powders and flocks etc. You can also add up to a maximum of 10 detailing parts, no more. A single part would be 1 x figure or 1 x vehicle or 1 x barrel or 1 x pallet etc.

7. The competition will end on the last day of March.

8. Anybody can enter with only one submission per member. The usual rules apply, we will be judging on the model itself, the quality of the progress post etc and individuality / inguinuity of the submission.

Reply : I'll allow the use of a sector plate. That will allow a bit more operational potential. It's not necessary though...

Charost asked : There is a sector plate in this kit but it's outside the box file.
Reply : You can feel free to add a sector plate if you wish to build one. I'm feeling generous. ...... must be the time of year. I'm getting soft.
