Have been working on this build since February. She is now ready for the paint shop. The motor part was quite a challenge but is running very sweetly.
GWR stuff is not my thing, but undeniably a very nice kit with some superb detail. I can imagine the motor bogie being 'Quite a challenge' and you've certainly made a brilliant job of it.....almost seems a shame to paint it. Keith.
Thanks Keith, You mean there are really `other` railway company`s ? fancy that ! Also, the motor unit can`t be taken apart except for motor servicing so it will have to be mostly painted by hand.....
The long haul paint project has commenced. The paint shed prepared and my preferred rattle can quality etch primer at the ready. ...important to find a dust free cupboard.... and the first coat is on...............
Now that is looking good ...... That valve gear looks far too complicated for the GWR, it must have got lost and modified by a real railway Paul
The GWR always leads and others follow ..... LSWR built the first really successful Railmotor ....the GWR borrowed it and built bigger and better.
