    Thanks you all.

Toto, I can say that I studied plenty of photographs before I tackled the painting and weathering. Reference material is highly recommended. :)

Chris, I think the Enfield silos wouldn't be too hard to knock up as there is a lot of straight up and down buildings surrounding the main silos. I'm sure you could produce a very highly detailed model in O gauge. Although you may want to alter the ceilings in you house... :giggle:

Ron, how many do you want...??

Paul, I will photograph the model in full sunshine, blue skies soon. I just started the build of a small photo plank that I can position the silos on, with appropriate rolling stock, then take it out and find a suitable background.

Jim, thanks mate. As for speed, well, being off work for a few days certainly helped. So did the late nights ! ;)

Kimbo, I definitely won't be going out of my way to break my leg. Makes it awfully difficult picking up materials for my next model... :D

Ed, I think it may even peer over the top of the backscene.

Mick, there will be extra details added at a later date.

    Cheers, Gary.

No not extending the house an O scale one would be huge.

I think a HO version will do,:giggle: with the Liverpool Rd/centenaryDr-Roberts Rd's over bridges as the entry and have it as a shelf style. There is also a modern, loco servicing facility part way down what use to be the yard as well to add some interest with a bit of modellers licence another industry could be put in may be a cement works.
I do have just a few wheat wagons, freight rail through to SSR a so I think it's about time they had a home other than the Club layout

Your construction of this silo has given me some ideas, I was thinking it would need a much larger foot print and this had put me off doing anything about it, but the effect you have archived has given me confidence that the whole facility as a 1/2 relief will work really well without having to have the double row of silos. Thank for the inspiration.

Some thing similar to what's on google earth now even Has the SSR wheat train in the image

Now that would make quite a nice curved plank.

    G`day Gary.......Happy New Year,

And what a way to start, with picture of the week and this superb build absolutely deserves to be up there.

You have the artists gift of observation and an understanding of how things work in the landscape and that translates into your scenery and buildings. To me that`s why they always look so good.

Well done old son..:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:....and keep `em coming.

Could go in the is it real category
It's a credit to you Gary and the speed of construction is hard to believe with the end result looks like it's years old when it's only days old

I'm with Chris, you would never think it's a model.

    Well done Gary.

Excellent Gary. Love the blue skies. Haven't seen much of them here this month. Looking forward to your next production.

That ain't much of a blue sky..!

Whilst on my drive out to the location where I photographed the model, the heavens opened up and down cam the rain. I was fortunate to have the rain stop for 15 minutes to get these pics done ! ;)

I think this is the only time I have complained about the rain. Should have heard me muttering (cursing) in the car. Any other day I love the rain, it's always welcome. :D

    Cheers, Gary.

Have to say Gary, what a superb build! I know I couldn't have made anything like your model in a month of Sundays, hence why I bit the bullet and bought the Walthers kit (all £75 of it), although buying through Amazon from Gaugemaster, at least the postage was free whereas if I'd bought direct, I'd have had to pay postage. Although my model has had a 'dusting of cement', further weathering is needed.....still won't look half as good as yours though!!!
