The Hattons sale (still on) tempted me last week with the end result being a rather large box arriving on Friday. These are the Bright Red “Charrington “B” tankers which will form a tanker wagon train for the 9F. Not my chosen livery, but these are the only ones available at the discounted price. So these will have the name boards removed (they are just tacked on with a gum type adhesive ) and then there will be a spraying session when the weather warms up to turn them into a nice dirty black livery. Each wheel has a spring fitted (you can hopefully see it just above the axle box) which gives very good independent suspension and as you would imagine from Heljan the models weigh in at a healthy 267grams. Very nice Kimbo. I looked at the sale and thought about another freight van but left it for now. Nice tanks.
Toto, you do have a lot of self control..... Probably a good job there were no loco kits up for grabs....
They're very nice looking tanks Kim, they remind me of when I used to work at the Coalite chemical plant 20 odd years ago. We had our fuel oil delivered by Charringtons road tankers, usually the same driver, Randy Bob, I will leave you to guess how he got his nickname. Cheer's, Pete.
