My Dads panniers now looking more workaday
Very nice Steve.
Another batch of MBR trees arrived today to thicken up the Birch Forrest plus a few spruce,
I’ve got another two tall spruce on order from GModelScene and that should just about complete this section.
Photography is so much better in natural light and the reds look a million times better
I’ve also added some coarser ballast in the drainage channels as I’ve just come across a nice picture of the prototype that shows this
A nice finishing touch Steve, drainage channels set into the batter slope are often overlooked in modelling.
I'm sure I saw a critter in them there woods ... very realistic
Another book made up, It’s a nice way to keep a record of my work especially after the layouts have gone to their new homes
weathering in progress today, a few more washes then real coal
This little wagon arrived today a LTD from Tower models, Totally out of Era for me but it’s from my home town so why not, it’s currently being distressed so it won’t look out of place in my goods train.
I’ve decided to add some Fox roundels to my Dapol MK1’s
The Dapol Mark 1 looks amazing, I'd say probably the best on the market right now
Most definitely, I hope they expand the range all first class some catering vehicles and bogie options
Yes indeed and how good would it be also if they did some Period 3 LMS or Porthole stock
Porthole stock would be superb or Period 3 and I guess that would give more livery options so from a selling perspective a better option.
I've often wondered why Porthole stock hasn't been done before... I've even seen pictures of LMS Period 3 stock in Rail Blue with Rail Grey... I know a few Hawksworth coaches were so treated and what a talking point that would make running on a good size layout.
A few more wagons coaled up and ready to roll
Lovely - that's almost ready to go to Barry ,
The last shots from Maple Road, you can see it in a future article in Model Rail
I dunno about the wagon getting distressed, I think it should be positively worried , hopefully getting Picture of the Week will give it some peace of mind.
Congrats on another superb bit of modelling
As I won’t need the GW coaling stage on Marches Road midland I’ll make up a 6’ x 2’ diorama
A sheet of ply and some 2x1 and we have a diorama underway
First pit cut in and I’ve found some LCut arches I had from the original Marches road. I think I will use these but maybe reduce the height a little.
