Wow, it could be the real railway!!!
Construction of Canton Mk2 is underway. This won’t be a fast build as I have two commissions that will take priority first. nice to be underway though
The upright timbers will support the lighting pelmet as this layout will be viewable from all 3 angles.
Lovely start there Steve and great to know you have a full diary of commissions too.
Had a few visiting locos over yesterday plus a special guest photographer
Wow, and your Dad's done it again what an amazing build, I can see where you got your skills from.
Congrats to the old man for another Pic of the Week
Yes indeed ... my sentiments too ^ Congrats to him on POTW with a super build.
Excellent, really excellent!
A little more done on Canton, Locos will be able to drive towards the viewer at a show which isn’t an angle you would normally see.
Picked up a laser cut turntable from Greenwood models Thursday and had a trip along the Swanage Railway
The turn table will be going on the midland shed commission build
Busy day on the buildings for both commissions
Something a little different today a Railart ( formerly laser craft Devon ) coaling stage in 4mm scale.
The tender for 4037 The South Wales Borderers underway with Dan Haines.
That's a damn fine looking turntable !
Who manufactures the turntable and do they come in various diameters ??
Greenwood models, They do a variety of sizes and designs. Available as a kit or pre made.
Cladding the shed for the western region shed commission plus planting a few large MBR trees on Sonning. That’ll probably be it for Sonning this year. Commission work and Canton will take priority now as commission work pays and Canton had a show invite for April.
Got the Tim Horn baseboards partially assembled and transported to the Bristol PWay gang. The track work was originally from Ranelagh bridge and it’s been in storage and suffered a little damage which can be repaired. The building are also saved from the same project so I hope I can capture a feel of that area in this build. The client has the space to incorporate this into a loop so train will be able to run past and have locos on shed.
I did wonder for a second if some of those buildings were from Ranelagh ... it was the signal cabin which got me thinking... anyway its looking good Steve.
ModelU guttering going on the offices / stores for the midland shed project
This little diorama will be coming down to me shortly for weathering, Scenics and ground cover.
First track on Canton plus some
Water cranes underway
First bit of ground cover on Canton. This layout is an island type giving three views of the locomotives on shed. canton Mk2 will make its show debut at next years Newport NEWGOG O gauge show in April.
