Hi all, I mistakenly bought the above kit from David a while ago (I clicked on the wrong one and thought I was buying the wooden mineral) Although LMS they were first built in 1947 so they are very late for my modelling period. I was going to advertise it for sale but thought I would ask if anyone had a kit for an LNER prototype that they might want to swap for it. although I would prefer something brass I would also consider a Slaters LNER/BR brake van or one of the Parkside ex NER examples if someone has something that they have had for a while that they might not get around to building.
Hi Rob, I'll check my stock and see what I have. I may have a slaters brake van actually. I'll check tonight and come back to you. i am also looking for some kind of wagon that would do as a scrap wagon and would tie in to the early sixties ....... don't suppose you know where I may get something suitable ? preferably in etched brass. toto
Rob, could you bung up a couple of photo's of the kit...... and ...... does it come with wheels ? cheers toto
Hi Tom, Sorry I posted it in a rush having been called for my dinner. I have taken a couple with different light levels. They don't come with wheels but I could possibly chuck some in depending on what I was swapping it for (and if I have any to chuck in that is)
Hi Rob, I bought the same LNER brake van from Jim McGowan ....... its in the kit category. I did intend building it for myself but I'll let you have it in exchange and I can always buy another one. i think it would be fairer rather than swapping out for the Parkside Dundas. never mind wheels just the kits themselves if the Connoseuir LNER 20 ton toad van is of any use to you. I could maybe use the steel mineral wagon as a scrap wagon purposes. taking away bits of broken axles and wheels etc from my carriage works. If you are interested let me know and we can PM addresses. cheers toto
No worries, enjoy the kit. ....... mind the build pictures, it'll help when I get another. just placed an order with Jim today for 2 BR brake vans and another loco tender wagon ....... wish I had known. cheers toto
Just had a look at their website ....... some nice stuff. especially the 35.5 ton tank and another one of the mineral wagons just ordered. see what you've done. cheers toto
I have already built the Glass wagon and I have the road stone wagon and 3 of the wooden minerals in the stash. - I thought that I was buying a wooden mineral when I got the steel one but clicked on the wrong one DOH! This is the glass wagon
No morrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeee. it is an excellent wagon. I like these more obscure builds. they look great and I think they will hold a lot of interest for people viewing them at exhibitions rather than just looking at rakes of the same kind over and over again. thanks for posting up the pictures toto
