At the Dundee MRC show at the weeked, my so called friends and colloeagues were trying to get me divorced, by keep on telling me about several O gauge loco's up for sale.

Now there some beautiful loco's on sale, some being sold by one of the clubs onbehalf of a berieved members family, and if i'd had the money a streamlined Coronation and A4 could have been sitting on the bench. However the real trouble was in the shape of a HR Clan Goods - in early lined LMS Black.

Being the brave, decisive man that I am, I waited until I got home to ask the boss for permission - hey I've got to sleep at night, and divorce lawers are expensive.

:drums: :drums: :drums: ..........SHE SAID YES !!!!!!! :tophat:

Luckily either didn't understand the question, or was just glad to shut me up

But Clan Mackinnon now has a new home.

The paintwork is a little worn especially round the name, but this doesn't worry me too much as I think it get repainted into HR Green, and may need a name change as Fox Transfers do Clan Mackenzie and Clan Stewart.

More pressure to get the wagons built

That was risking more than divorce, you could have been torn limb from limb - did she ask the price  and was the response truthful? :avatar:

Hence I asked first with full disclosure, before taking any action - I'm not that stupid / reckless, especially with my own life :twitch: :whatever: :avatar:

Although Morag did keep me on my toes, when confirming her consent at breakfast, she did mutter yes £5.50 for a loco is acceptable - I wish :whatever:

Ordered up transfers from Fox, so will need to clear the workbench to allow me to test run it on the rolling road, then strip the loco down, give it a good clean and service before prepping for paint.

Hey ...... you are stealing my job at being the reckless spender. I've been off the boul for too long now. Just as well I missed the kit built Q1 that was for sale on the O gauge guild magazine ....... absence from the forum for a while does gas its benefits ..... one of them being financially. :avatar:

Morag must have went completely soft. You owe her big time ...... at least that his how I will stir it up when I see her next.

It looks like a beautiful build Paul. Maybe a short video of it running on the rolling road when you get the chance.

    Has it been chipped ?
What kind of motor and gear box is in it ?

Come on ........ give us the juicy bits. :avatar:

I'll see it in the flesh on my next donut munching visit.

Will do, need to clean the bench down first.

I've not dismantled it yet or worked out how to dismantle it, but appears to be scratch built.

Not chipped yet, and appears to have a largish can motor fitted. I will need to do some current consumption and stall checks when its on the rolling road, to help determine the decoder.

Also working on making up the prototype D4 van - need something for the Clan to pull.

Ordered 3ft 7in wheels from Model Railway Parts last week, still waiting for them to arrive, so have pinched at set from a 4 wheel coach build to keep progress running.
