I have recently finished reading an excellent book published by the Lightmoor Press: "The Tralee and Dingle Railway," written by Michael Whitehouse. This is my review of the book: http://rogerfarnworth.com/2023/07/09/the-tralee-dingle-railway/
What a great little railway. I jumped onto google maps and there are remnants still around that show where the railway once ran. Here is a selection of pics from google maps... ^ Tralee station and town showing the rough estimation of the route through Tralee towards Blennerville. You can see the heritage railway terminus below the Aquadome. ^ The deviation for the Heritage line terminus. The former line can be seen where the old steel viaduct is above the red buildings to the left. ^ 'Blennerville', terminus of the heritage railway. ^ An old viaduct over River Finglis, east of the town of Camp. The following photos are taken along the N86 road from Camp to Dingle where you can make out the former right of way. ^ This photo taken of the sign near the viaduct at Lispole, giving a description of the viaduct was photographed by Gino Cussen. ^ The location of where the terminus once was at Dingle. The road here is named 'The Tracks'. The scenery is beautiful right along the route form Camp to Dingle. Cheers, Gary.
