I decided to add a couple of these to Luib Bridge to fill in the backscene. http://www.timbertracks.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=1_3&product_id=324 photo's to follow when they arrive. cheers toto
We'll soon find out when they come. I was looking at putting them on the back scene between the low relief warehouse and the goods shed. Toto
these arrived today ..... x 2 and here are the parts .... not many actually but all bagged and labelled. speak for themselves really ..... and the main low relief supports ..... and finally, the two front facades .......... these will go together in no time. As I said previously its the painting that will take the time. I'll post the build up when I get to it. cheers toto
Had a shufty on the Timbertracks web site and was I gobsmacked at the prices?! I don't understand the pricing when such as LCut are a fraction the only difference being the materials used. Pete.
The laser cutting process takes some time and it has to be watched so I guess the cost is for the time more than the materials.
I suppose but 6 to 8 hundred pounds ( and more ) is still over the top in my opinion. They are fantastic looking kits but not for the every day modeller. I think the higher end of the market beckons. Toto
Speaking to a mate of Mine who does a lot of laser cutting I think it’s more just to make sure somerthing doesn’t go wrong. Yes though I suspect they do take a similar time to cut.
we'll probably never know. However, I think the pricing regime will convert through into the difference in sales somehow. I'm not saying they are not good, in fact, the very opposite ( even though they made a small mistake with the parts in one of my purchases, so the difference ain't down to their QA dept ).but I think that if there is not a genuine reason for pricing them so high, they must be restricting their customer base and therefore possibly their bottom line. very nice products regardless. cheers toto
The production line is on .......... This is what we are on today as I await the Low relief warehouse to dry out after giving it another coat of Colron. So ..... off we go ....... It is constructed mainly in two parts. A very easy build. Part one above gets it rear supports glued in ........ part two above gets it rear supports glued into place slapped a bit of glue in between ........ and clamp them together ..... and await drying before the roof , windowand main door go on. cheers toto
Gave it a quick coat of Colron before dinner .... awaiting its fate ......... and there we go. Now just to dry out. It took a better coat than the low relief warehouse. I was more careful to ensure that no glue got anywhere near the fascia although I thought I was also careful with the first build as well ........ never mind. cheers toto
