BR Blue and to the forum. Great to have you on board with us. I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to post up when you are settled in. Cheers for now Toto
Thank you Toto. I’m pleased to be a member of the forum. I’m old fashioned as I still prefer OO gauge with DC operation. I have a passion for collecting BR Blue diesel locomotives. Kev
Hi Kev, I did oo gauge before turning to O gauge and I had a huge collection of blue and green diesels. There are so many available so the pickings are rich. Feel free to get some piccies up of your fleet. We all love to see loco pictures. If you have a layout, start a layout thread in the members personal layouts forum and give us a bit of the story so far and your plans for the future. You are in good company here buddy so dive in and enjoy. Any questions ..... shout out. An answer wont be far away. All the guys are freindly and helpful on here so dont be afraid to jump on to any thread.... you will be made welcome. Once again, thanks for joining our merry band of guys .... and gals. All the best Toto
Thank you Toto. I don’t have a layout but I am toying with the idea of building a photo plank. This will give me a scene in which to show off some of my BR Blues and some rolling stock.
Good idea. It's great to see these locos against some kind of back drop. It puts them into a scene and when studied closely ..... let's your imagination run riot. We have some great diorama builders and scenic modellers on here so run through some of the posts etc and you will find some useful tips and methods. A few names to look out for ( just a few for starters ) is Gormo, York Paul, Ron, Paul l and Gary but there are many more. Search through the gormo's shed section as there is a huge hints and tips section showing some fantastic project builds, everything from trees and bushes, to buildings and cassette handling systems. Not just that but if you gave any questions that need clarity, gormo is very helpful at coming back with further help. You will find that all members usually are. It's great to see you jumping in to the posting quickly as we appreciate everyone's contributions whether its adding info, asking questions, posting pictures or just a bit of freindly chat. We welcome it all regardless of the level or interest of your modelling. I hope you enjoy. Cheers for now Toto PS .... keep an eye open for the competitions ..... they are all free to enter and there are some great prizes to be won.
Hi there BR Blue and from East Yorkshire glad you joined us. Rail Blue and early Corporate image sits well with me too up to the time of large logo then sectorisation after that I start to loose interest. Anyway I'm interested to see you photo plank pictures as they come, I do 0 Gauge and build photo plank dioramas, much of my current stuff is 1960 based with steam but hey ho. Anyway welcome to the forum and do comment in on threads and start your own topics as folk here have a wide variety of interests. cheers Yorkie
Thank you York Paul. I am certainly going to look through some of the build threads within the different sections of the forum. O gauge is something I have been thinking about especially the wagon kits that are available.
I came back to modeling from a twenty year gap from OO, a friend showed me his O Gauge loco collection and that was it for me, I bought a few Parkside wagon kits and some Ian Kirk coach body kits ... then some more and some more... oh dear. So it is a bug and you have to be really firm with yourself otherwise it goes hard core. I then build a layout running line to photo on which pushed me into building my own track and points and then signals and a lever frame, I soon discovered that O Gauge wagons in a rake perform much the same as the real ones did... I worked for BR at Stoke in the distant past, so my stuff is mainly biased to the old North Stafford with the current exception of a Stafford Road built 850 class Pannier which I quite like. cheers York Paul (Yorkie)
Is that 057 or 059 Kev ? I saw 058 when it came off Stoke Road bridge in October 1985, 25058 was being driven by Stoke man Jigger Bill to Longport to pick up empties for the Oakamoor trip, the Guard mistook the peg to read for the bridge crossover but instead it was off for the neck and the stop block behind Stoke power box. Picture by friend and associate the late Tom Waterhouse from Endon.
Kev, and a warm welcome from Dundee. A couple of comments on Yorkie's 25 pic - first It wasn't me I'd moved from Stoke to Dundee the year earlier, and second it's protoypical evidence for running with a buffer missing. Good luck with the photo planks, and don't forget to take pictures of the build. Once again welcome to the madhouse - erm sorry the forum Paul
Hi BR Blue from a cloudy Spain, glad to have you with us .. look forward to some photos .. anyway enjoy Ian vt
