:gday: and a warm :welcome: to SantaClaus

Glad you managed to to find time at this busy time of year for yourself to join us here at platform1mrc.

Have a look arround and when your ready please introduce yourself to the forum, although many of us have sent letters in the past, please ignore any comments about the socks being the wrong scale - I know its a busy time, and some of us are a little thin on the details.

Once again welcome to the forum

    Paulk

Welcome aboard Santa from down under in Sydney.
Plenty of room to land the "boomers" in my driveway.
    N gauge preferred.

Dear Santa, is it true that naughty boys and girls only get underwear or socks for Christmas instead of toys?

I heard that naughty boys get socks and underwear one size too small whereas good boys get stockings and underwear for their wife also one size too small.

Me thinks you all have a one track mind.
Naughty boys and girls would normally get a nice piece of black "coal".
In this case however I think it would just end up in a tender.

Honoured to have you on board Santa.

Don't keep all the presents to yourself. We like a shinnie or two on here.

I appreciate you are busy around now and you really don't need much of an introduction but come back and let us know what you are up to in your leisure time. ( the other 364 days of the year ).

I think we have another flag to add to our pages. Paul will be on overtime again. :avatar:

Welcome good Sir and I hope you can bring something magic to our pages.

    Cheers

    Toto

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone, very much needed at this time of year. Outside its about 0 degrees. Long days but only figuratively - when the sun does come up later at about 9am it only stays 6 hours and then goes again.
Anyways I thought I may answer some of the more oblique questions I receive in my post each day while enjoying my hot chocolate breaks. At least that way you will see what we deal with up here.

Question 1. [From little Colin in UK]. How do you handle lit fireplaces when using chimneys?
Rule 1: Always check that a chimney is actually a chimney and not a dual chimney (particularly when in York).
Rule 2: Always make sure it goes somewhere
Rule 3; Always wear my fireproof underwear from my friends at Stand 21. (refer http://www.stand21.com.au/products.r-2/underwear.r-14/)

Question 2. [From Ian in Spain]. Do I like goats?
Yes - just like a reindeer only smaller.

Question 3. [From Tom in Scotland]. Do I like O gauge?
No, I much prefer HO HO HO.

Anyway until I can catch a break and catch up later just remember 18 sleeps till Christmas.

G`day Santa and welcome to the brains trust. I didn`t know you were interested in model trains......I thought you just delivered them???????

I know you must be busy at this time of the year and you have to cover a lot of ground on Christmas eve, but this year could you try and not spill beer all over our carpet. I know it was you because I followed the trail of biscuit crumbs you dropped on your way back from the Christmas tree to the chimney. The missus was not impressed,..... the beer was bad enough but we had to get out the pooper scooper to clean up after the reindeer as well. What do you feed them on??????.....Oh and one other thing.....please don`t let the reindeers sharpen their antlers on the tv aerial......I lost 6 channels when they did that last Christmas, although funny enough I did get the neighbours ham radio coming through the tv, which was quite entertaining....albeit a little weird.????

I hope you don`t take our fence.....Ooops ...I mean offense..... because my Christmas list is quite long this year, but you would already know that after the letter I sent you..

I suppose this is a pretty poor welcome to the forum from me, however I felt obliged to let you know the ground rules for deliveries to our joint and I haven`t had the opportunity to contact you in this way before......so there you are!!!

    Enjoy your journey with us......:avatar:

Another quick hello as I take a lunch break.

    More questions to answer.

Question 4. [From Mick] Do you really make lists?
Absolutely - and we check them twice - naughty and nice - even check Platform 1 to see if you posted more than twice.

Question 5. [From David] Does your sleigh really have a hot chocolate dispenser?
Yes plus an eight track tape player.. can't beat the oldies.

Question 6. [From Chris] Favorite prototype?
Everything of course. Imagine having to test every toy - some twice - I call it quality control but think the elves are now talking behind my back.

    Gormo
    ...the beer was warm
...those digestive biscuits you left out were a real problem
...no charge for the "boomer" fertilizer - we use white boomers when we get downunder you know not reindeers
... I think the antenna was scratched by a "drop bear" not a reindeer
...will park the sleigh on your neighbour's front lawn this year
...the audio was nothing compared to the 3D version I got when I dropped down their chimney ... I was still shaking when I tried to pick up your warm beer

Its not too late to make the nice list.

Just remember only 17 sleeps to go till we "ride the rails" (I know - skids as we still use the sleigh)

I like the signature line Santa

Double Chimney's are better, esp. for streaming performance and I'm guessing Gormo's neighbors had a Double Chimney as it sounds like it was full steam ahead and semaphore signals :giggle: when Santa Dropped in last year:avatar::avatar::avatar:
