Thanks, both. Only discovered this place existed tonight so thought I'd give it a go! My modelling was done out of necessity to an extent but has developed over the years to a more or less standard approach to a subject - I like making things....but have a pragmatic approach to these matters, using good R-T-R loco chassis for example to provide reliable runners. It's all a balance of time and ambitions, something we all have to reach our own compromise with. Anyway, I have spent most of my adult modelling life trying to recreate parts of the Far North line of the ScR in the later Fifties, when steam still ruled. Current interests are focused on two stations there, namely Thurso and Helmsdale. The usual problem of lack of space has meant a degree of artistic licence, esp. with Helmsdale but I've managed to make as much as I can of them, I think. Once I've had a look at image upload I'll post some of my work up .
