G'day Rosspop, Welcome aboard from Sydney. Get yourself settled in, have a good look around, read up and join in the camaraderie and banter that is P1MRC. Looking forward to your first post and any questions you may have. Then again, I may have some for you ! Cheers, Gary.
Thanks for the welcome folks Will have a look around and then post some stuff on what I`m up to on the modelling front Cheers John
Ok here goes, I`ve been a serious railway modeller since 1975( well really since 1962) but took time out to get a career and wife etc.Started with N guage then on to kit building in 00 gauge, stayed with 4mm right up until 2008 when I slowly moved over to 7mm O Gauge. Made an exhibition layout back in 1997....... ew project.jpg In 7mm I`m mainly a kit/scratch builder and have been developing a working collection of LMS and GWR locos and rolling stock.I`m building a GWR end to end diorama project of a typical wooden platform scene based on a protoype location but not completely the same. I`m a recent convert to DCC sound.... Here is a short vid of my only kit built GWR diesel..... .https://youtu.be/4mnGR-Or-wY Plus an LMS loco https://youtu.be/4zevx_Dx8IE Cheers John Attached files
and Rosspop (John) to Platform1 from a very warm land Down Under Great to have you Aboard Great intro to yourself watched and enjoyed a few of your videos Looking forward to seeing more of your fine modelling Again and enjoy your time here.
Hi John, welcome aboard and thanks for posting your videos up. A couple of very nice builds. I also like your white metal buffers. Where did you get these ? Looking forward to seeing more of the same. cheers toto
Welcome Rosspop , great intro . Really liked your videos, the GWR railcar is a really nice model and the sound is excellent! Cheer's, Pete.
Thanks everyone, Toto: The white metal buffer kits are GWR type from Adrian Swain aka ABS models. unfortunately he does`nt do a website and usually attends the big O gauge shows. My understanding is that at the moment he is unwell/recovering and is out of action. John
That's a shame. They look really good. I'll maybe keep an eye open at the shows just in case. Thanks for the low down.
Rosspop wrote: Thanks for the info John. From what I've heard, Adrian is a little difficult to buy stuff from at the best of times. I believe he owns the Wrightlines range of products after Kay gave it up. I would love to get another Baldwin kit and a couple of the Ashover Gloucester coach kits, but I haven't seen any for ages. Cheer's, Pete.
