A new layout, based loosely on Tetbury. New baseboard fitted and some planning and measurements already!
Bus wires in and most droppers connected and rails painted! Then the serious side, wiring up points, frogs and whatever else is needed using the DCConcepts ADS 2's. Spotted a hack on YT to save me working under the layout!!
Is there a reason for the name ? Is it after the Boat Windrush that we have heard much of in the news of late ? Layout looking good ! Following the progress
Hi Andy, no it's a river in Oxfordshire that joins the Thames. my wife is from Witney which is on the river Windrush. Ron
Oh. That’s not one I’ve heard of. Mind you, the for rivers near me could give some interesting layout names. The Maun, Leen, Medan and Idle. Although we have the Leen valley route on the railway, the closest the others came is the local shopping centre is called the Idlewells.
Moving along nicely now, all electrics done (just one duff point motor to change!) Engine shed built, platform ready and tunnel entrance done. (the welder has also arrived!) Awaiting a goods shed kit and station building to build and the dreaded ballasting!
Coming along nicely Ron. Pity about the one dud point motor... Are you using slow-mo (Cobalt etc), servos or solenoids ? Cheers, Gary.
Surface mounted solenoids! Managed to take it apart and repair it!! Goods shed kit has arrived so that's the next job (keep putting ballasting off!) Ron
Slight change to the layout, wasn't happy with the shunting arrangements so I moved the new goods shed and moved the loco shed up near the station.
Nice change of the plan. Plenty of room in between the loco road and the platform road for a water column. Looks like you have acquired the Superquick goods shed. You got that built quick smart !! Cheers, Gary.
Bit of a dilemma here... I like the way it looks now so do I really need to ballast it all??? Remarks would be helpful?
