Can I suggest rather than having one end narrower than the other, just off set the legs as it will be much sturdier in the long run. Cheers, Gary.
Sounds easier to implement as well. The only benefit of the other is putting the narrow legs in the centre of the connections (two boards = one section). But still, agree as above. Thanks Gary! Maybe this weekend I can get the first set knocked up.
1200mm long by 400mm wide, two boards fit together to form a section, so 2400mm by 400mm when connected together
If they are only four feet long, I would suggets doing what I have done on my base boards for my O gauge layout. Only have one set of foldable legs per baseboard and a pair that can slip into sockets. This will also keep the weight down during transport. Take a look at what I have done in my thread on page 3 : http://platform1mrc.com/p1mrc/index.php?threads/oh-no-what-have-i-done-an-o-gauge-layout.3143/page-3 Cheers, Gary.
*cough cough* It's a little dusty in here. Sorry for the necro-revival. Time to get this back on track. Hi All, long story but I'm back and am looking at getting some progress going on these planks. I moved to Melb 5 years ago and learnt that that was 5 years I'll never get back plus some more debt to pay off. I have two of the planks in the shed, mostly stable and ready for work. 4 more somewhere in storage that I'll dig out. Several of the new ARM 38s ready and a huge mess of everything modelling or craft related. Hope to catch up with you all soon. It's great to be back, cheers, Aaron (Veers)
