Finally got around to putting sound into my Bachmann 08. Here is a short video of my Bachmann Class 08 and Dapol Class 22 on Industry Lane. Enjoy the sounds, I know I do ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceFmyJovAMQ&feature=youtu.be The dcc sound decoder/sound profile for the 08 is one of Paul Chetter's doing. Faboulous sound I must say. Fitting a sugar cube speaker and small Zimo decoder into the Bachmann 08 is no easy feat, but I managed ! The sound in the Class 22 is a Digitrains profile, loaded onto a Loksound decoder. Digitrains have produced what I think is a crisp and clear profile, considering there are no Class 22 to record sound from ! Both decoders were purchased from Digitrains and the usual disclaimer applies here ! I'm just a happy customer... http://www.digitrains.co.uk/ Cheers, Gary.
Great video clip Gary the sounds are really good esp the horn on the 22 is just how I remember the loco horns when we were in the UK. http://www.click
"Light and day" some one on the pop last night? The other difference is the speaker that is used. Just replacing the standard speaker from Hornby can make a huge difference, still not as good as one of mr PC or another good supplier is legomanbiffo who does some great work with diesels. http://www.click
Excellent video Gary. Has my favorite loco in it. Have you overcome the issues with the 08 shorting out or is that why you stopped up short of the points with it? The whole scene looks brilliant. I sense another award coming on at your exhibition. You really need to consider getting your layouts published. You should try putting them forward for it with a few pictures. You could offer the two as a double feature. I think they'd bite your hand off. Cheers Toto.
Thanks all for the kind comments. I had a running session last night and the problems seem to be alleviating as the loco rolled through some sets of points with no issues at all, but I need to look at the axles (back to backs) to see if I need to make some fine adjustments. This will be tonight's job, if weathering the Class 22 doesn't take precedence. Last night I weathered my Class 25 using the same methods as weathering my wagons, matt coat, powders, isopropyl alcohol, more powders, more isopropyl and so on. Still have some work to do, adding some rust here and there and then more work on the bogies and fuel tank. Otherwise, it's looking reasonably grubby ! Cheers, Gary.
Now that's how a 25 should look, like it its spent its life off roading without a care in the world. I've always liked the two tone green livery, and for me a 47 never looked better than in the two tone.
The 25 looks good Gary, getting that near ready for an overhaul look Toto it's all in the mind have clean loco want dirty loco if I it up, it will be an even dirtier loco "Simples" more weathering usually fixes everything
