    Anyone here using Decoder Pro?

I’ve used it a number of years, but for the railway I’m using an old XP laptop, I can’t update to a new version of Java, so I’m still running DP v3.

However, I have newer decoders than what are listed...

Can anyone advise me where to get a new list of decoders? I can’t seem to easily find it after trawling the jmri pages so I can update?

    Andy

I'm using version 4.12 of Decoder Pro on Windows XP in my train room (on an older desktop Core2Duo computer) - latest is 4.14. Java is version 8 but I haven't checked whether that's the latest update either.

    Hi Andy
    i use Decoder Pro
you can upgrade the decoder definitions without upgrading the version of decoder pro.
I would suggest you backup your Decoder XML file then rename the original file to decoders.old then go to
    http://jmri.sourceforge.net/xml/decoders/
and choose the decoder manufactures that you have and download the files to the decoder folder.
the reason that I say to backup your original file is that sometimes the new definitions may not work with an old version of Decoder Pro.
if you need more help please ask away. I could do a step by step if you need it.
    be seeing you
    Bob

Thanks Bob, just what I was looking for. I think I’ve been searching for a file that would be all the decoder definitions as one, not individual files.

I’ll look at this later. Thanks for the reply and link.
