Thanks for the reply Chris, it must have been soul destroying for them, but like the proverbial phoenix they seem to be rising up out of the ashes, I will have to like their facebook page and keep up to date on how they are doing.

    Pete.

Latest shiny SSR CEY class CEY004 named Kandos has arrived.

It's presented in what can only be said is a very nice livery

This is the reason the loco pictured below has just joined the roster For running grain trains.

    Hello SMR Chris,
Please enlighten me , distributed power implies master and slave locomotives, van all CEY class be either a master or a slave ?

Does the elephant and the kangaroo emblems signify anything ( besides the owners happening to Locke elephants and kangaroos ! ).

Very impressive train operation , you know the wagons are new / refurbed as there is no graffiti.

Those vandals caught doing that should be made to not only pay repaint costs but should have to do the reprinting every week end with a hand brush to rectify it.

Very interesting videos, those UGL / GEs are. Wry quiet and the cab controls are well laid out,

Thank you for that, best wishes and regards, Exhidna

    Hello SMR Chris,
All the AC44 locos "CEY" type can be head end, Distributed power (mid train) or DPU (end of train power)

With the computer control all the locos work to the load at the time IE cresting a hill the lead loco can throttle back the mid train loco can still be powering up the hill and will throttle down as it unloads as to crests the hill.
A lot of the wagons sets are wired with MU cabling as well now

SSR seem to have themes on a lot of there fleet the CEY class are primarily for hauling the Centennial coal unit trains from over the Blue mountains to the export port at Newcastle I will have to ask the significance of the Elephants 🐘

The centennial coal sets don't really stop so always have some sort of servalance unlike the wheat hoppers that get left for long periods in sidings

Can't agree more bring back public flogging as well I say.
