    OK,
the progress with the new build so far. Made a start to the O Gauge side of the shed by framing out for the baseboard rack.

    and another
    [IMG]

12mm thick ply for both the side walls and the work top area where the baseboards will sit on top of when in use.

the area to the left will be split in two. one to the extreme left to allow access into the electrics and the other area for stacking storage boxes and trestles.

the shelves go in to take the baseboards when in storage, I can stack four .

and again, showing the storage to the left.

you'll see there will be further storage to the extreme right. again to be shelved out. that s the end where the workbench will be located to the " top " of the shed opposite the door.
Not bad for the first shift. I'll shelve out the two ends tomorrow night then make a start to the other side the " OO scale " side after that. the work bench will be last. finishing the two long sides will let me get most of the existing stuff stacked away and create a better working space to go forward.
    any comments welcome.
    cheers
    toto.

The brain is working overtime. Can't wait to get fired back into things tomorrow night. I'm on a roll now. A bit shelving left to do where I left off and then the other side can commence. More or less the same again.

I may alter the electrics slightly and install another couple of double sockets as I go as they are all below baseboard level. We'll see.

I also have enough room for a tall boy cupboard down at the door end. A little more thinking to go into that before I kick it off though.

    Cheers for now.

    Toto.

Tall boy ? You'll not be able to reach, mind you having a small boy in your shed may prompt a few awkward questions :avatar:

    Hi Ed,

Frank bit the dust early yesterday. I said a few words for him and the occasion passed very peacefully. A very emotional moment.

However, every cloud has a silver lining ........ Spawn of Frank ....... Bob the work bench is expected to be delivered sometime soon. There will probably be an official christening as usual nearer the time. I'll keep you posted.

    Cheers

Great work Toto, I just hope you have enough storage area and those shelves are deep enough...

    Cheers, Gary.

    Hi Gary,

The shelves are 600 mm deep and the baseboards are 550 mm deep. I may make the shelves on the other side slightly deeper though. Possibly 750 mm deep. I think there is an optimum depth before you just end up wasting floor / circulation space.

    Back to it tonight.

Maybe I should have wrote 'height of the individual shelves...'

Looks like the bench height is good for the stack-able drawers and the rolling tool chest.

    Cheers, Gary.

    Hi Gary,

The height is fine as well. Baseboards are 150 mm high and I've allowed 250mm spacing. All buildings etc will need to be stored separately. They can be adjusted if necessary.

:scratchchin: mmmmmmm .......... too much time on your hands I fear. :scratchchin: need to get my thinking cap on.
mean while, i was back in the shed and started with a quick tidy and move about.
    slid the baseboards into place.

then started partitioning for a shelving area up the top end.

    and another,
    [IMG]

then started shifting the timber to make way on the OO scale side,
    [IMG]

    to give,
    [IMG]

which is where I start tomorrow night, stripping the leftover frame work out.

and then more moving of storage boxes to let the build commence again.

and there we have it for now. once the other side is cleared, I'll need more work bench surface cut up at B & Q so that will probably be wednesday night that I go for that.
coming along though a bit at a time.
    cheers for now.
