After eaning brownie points all morning (painting!) I got a chance to start on the scenics near the station as per Sheringham station.
Motoring along very nicely there Ron. Was the music on the loco sound chip....????.... http://www.clickGormo
I,m impressed with the TTS 4F sound! for a budget fitment, and I know it has its limitations, it would make a cheap fitment to my 1F tank and probably the 3F, and if you are not too fussy, any 0-6-0, fingers crossed for Hornby to release them as separate items. Cheers, Pete.
Hi Pete, Hattons are taking orders already (£36)!! I think they are released in June but wait and see!
Never mind Ron....it was nice music......you obviously have good taste.!!!....that makes two of us in this cultural vacuum.......... Couldn`t help that Toto old mate.... http://www.clickGormo
Started a bit of scenic work Sunday night. The track leading to the shed/storage area (which will be on a concrete standing.) First using air-dying clay to infill the area and track centres. Then a sealing coat of Burnt Umber acrylic paint. Then finished off tonight with scatterered earth, cinders and grass.Track on the right is the Program track. Then tested with the Class 59!
Looking good Ron, but I think the kettles should be in the shed and the diseasals in the yard ! Did you apply PVA under the air dry clay ? Cheers, Gary.
Update; Built a fence between the station building and the shed track and laid a cinder ballast on the approach to the ordered engine shed. Also practiced using Kadee's!! Cheers Ron
Hi Ron, Congratulations on POTW. Great shot of your TMD. Once again your build is going from strength to strength ......... first class. cheers toto
Congratulations on PotW Ron, well deserved. You better slow down on this build for you'll have no modelling for February... As for the Kadees, what do you think of them and what method of uncoupling are you using ?? Cheers, Gary.
Congrats on Pic Of The Week Ron, The sheds and sidings are looking good and the trains are running very smoothly. Nice to watch..... http://www.clickGormo
Thank you all, that was a shock when I booted up this morning!! Gary I use a couple of the Kadee magnets placed at the platform ends for incoming trains only at the moment. I disguised them in an occupational crossing, (photo below!) Track ballasting yet to be done! Cheers Ron
Save yourself some dollars (pounds) and buy the cylindrical magnets I use. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10X-Disc-Round-Neodymium-Cylinder-Rare-Earth-Strong-N35-Grade-Magnets-3mm-x-10mm-/161353080744?hash=item2591649fa8 These are a fraction of the cost. You need six magnets burried vertically between the sleepers, three each side between the rails. See here : http://www.platform1mrc.com/view_topic.php?id=1357&forum_id=15 Cheers, Gary.
