Bit more done today, decided on a passing siding on the 'plank'! A few more droppers to solder but had my first circular trip completed!!
To clip the lift out section, you could use these from : https://www.stationroadbaseboards.co.uk/cart_catches.htm Mount these vertically (two each end), they can align the tracks and hold the lift out section in place quite firmly. Cheers, Gary.
I've used dowels, one at each end which seem to work OK and added a guide rail against the inside rail on the bend (if that makes sense!). I shall be adding some walling/fencing along the plank in time. Still some soldering to do yet.. Ron
At least if it's removable, it'll be easy to do the droppers and you won't have to solder upside down! Keith.
Well, finished soldering and all connected up now. 2 video's of the difference it can make to a once end to end layout!!
Building a curved retaining wall made me think a bit! In the end I decided to make some heavy card uprights following the curve around. When they had set I added the sheet walling and held it place with clamps until set..
Curved wall set and finished, got some 3mm mounting card and carefully cut it to size. I will strengthen it as it will not be secured in case of derailment etc..! The sheet cover, Cut to size (eventually!!) The astro weight is helping the wooden base underneath to set! Cheers Ron
Bit more done today, signal added and measured up for a 4' wall around the top.. (and did some operating!)
More ballasting done and I have tried using that expanding foam to fill the rear of the track. I'll carve it tomorrow (if that's possible!!)
