Is that an original Thoresby Colliery nameplate? It’s just up the road from me (about 8 miles) looking fab. Can’t wait to see a loco come down from the main to the engine shed and yard.
Thanks Andy. Paul tells me, that yes it’s is an original. Today saw us connect the two layouts together.
Wow.. that’s a bit travelled! Coming on nicely. I actually thought the exit would have been the other way, wasn’t expecting a reversed shunt.
Thanks to both Kim & Ralph for helping me achieve a wonderful layout in such a short space of time much appreciated
Just a quick update of progress so far as the MPD has taken a back seat of late with the layout circuit taking great shape so as i can run some trains.Placed B-shed back on the layout & started to do a bit of decorating fitting the road doors both ends, ladders to all four corners with the roof walkways made from laser cut wood with plastic styled railings.I’m currently waiting for some brass rodding to make the railings up & over the roof fronts & top ladder platforms. Many thanks to Kim,Ralph & a new member to the project Matt.
Loverly pictures Paul. The roof detailing is really coming together now, keep up the good work and keep us posted with your progress
Start today making up one of the platform railings leading to the up & over of the fascia roof B-shed.
First time Ballasting-love it or hate it but it’s got to be done making up the 2 spill islands either side of the fuel point from plastic styrene then down to a bit of decorating.
