Paul this could be your entry in the current O scale competition get the 3D printer going with new parts to match a prototype
Today, I connected the Traverser B end to the Gully end of the layout. Aligned the track and set the traverser track values. Paul
Neither, may have been me catching the camera. On the last track, I have a slight height adjustment to make, which you can see when the wagon jumps a little. Once completed that's a job off the todo list
well hopefully my own todo list, rather than the todo list Toto keeps creating - that keeps growing at a faster rate than Toto's to be built list
Back to the other board Rocks added to the rear behind the bridge. Painted slate grey, and also the river bed painted a mix of Matt Stone emulsion, Slate Grey emulsion, Raw Umber acrylic, thinned with a little water. Just waiting for the paint to dry enough for the black wash. Paul
Black wash applied Then a coat of matt varnish was applied to try flatten the silk slate grey emulsion Then the highlights added Next up greenary Paul
Barney ..... BARNEY..... where is that rubble when you need it So made my own, by mixing up a small amount of plaster and adding some black acrylic. Let it set then break it up - some crushed to give really small rocks / pebbles (see more Flintstones references). Placed most of the rubble in situ, then wetted with IPA, then added PVA Time for bed - to avoid touching any of it while the glue dries Paul
Still a bit of plaster bandage coming through on the second last picture Paul. Could be explained away as rock netting used for stabilising rock faces maybe. The last one has a lava flow look about it. Toto
Dont worry about the lava flow - thats the vertical drop of the river, so will be covered in silicon, the other bit I'm going to live with, but there may be some hanging vegetation appearing in a place near here soon Waiting for the boss to surface, then will need to get some clear silicone to implant on the layout - not the form of silicone implant that would normally perk interest. Getting close to the big pour - I'm getting nervous Paul
that is sooo impressive, that stone hut really blends in … you're not just a pretty traverser then ian vt
Oh Traverser .... I thought my dress had slipped Tried to release the inner Van Gogh The idea is to have some mountains behind the bridge on a sub backscene, then approx 15mm behind it a plain white backscene. Inbetween will be a strip of RGB Led's, so I can change the colour of the backscene, to give a blue sky, or Red / Orange sunrise or sunset, and with the main lighting turned off the mountains will be silhouetted against the background. View from the end where it will never be viewed by the public Standing height Sitting height Paul
Is this based on the Keswick branch bridges? Or am ai totally the wrong line? The bridge and river bed looks dam awesome! I may need to read from page 1
Nah, roughly based on (very roughly) on the Tay Viaduct at Dalguise But if its more like the Keswick branch bridges then may a change of location maybe in order Reading from page 1 may be a cure for insomnia, or a sign of needing a better life Apart from the ply road bed and softwood bracing it's all 3D printed.
