Bude-iful, at least, in my opinion!

    Hi Keith,

We are actively looking at interfaces with Mac software. I had issues uploading anything but bare posts from my Ipad to any forum. that issue still existed to this day although it had been looked at by many people and mods etc.

My IMac was not a problem especially on YMRC after a bit of tweaking and explanation from the team on there. We will get to the same position here. Of that I have every faith. I am glad that you have found a way to resize your images for successful uploading so far. This can maybe suffice until we have a permanent solution clearly identified and we can and will talk you through it.

I appreciate your persistence so far. As I said, there will be a few niggles as I would suspect most if not all forums have experienced at some point. We came on line very quickly and have so far as suggested and appreciated by most done a great job in getting here.

it is good that assistance and explanations have been offered by others outside the moderators. That was invariably the case on YMRC as well. I think it demonstrates strength and willingness within the community as a whole. What its all about really.

Now .... let's see these images going up and some more details of your layout etc. All great stuff.

    many thanks for your patience.

    toto.

    Hi Cleobury.
I don't think I ever got around to posting pics on YMRC, so can't answer your query. It seems odd, but joining this forum was like dropping into a comfy pair of slippers, I felt immediately at home, so spurred into posting pics (more to come, you may wish you'd never asked!). Please though guys, don't bust a gut on my account, I have the luxury(?) of being retired, so have more time than you lads who have to hold down a day job. We'll get there in the end.
    Easy does it,
    Keith.

    Hi Keith

Sorry to come to this thread so late, something about an over weight gentleman in a red outfit, but the boss tells me a diet in the new year should fix the over weight part.

As Cleobury has pointed out the picture editor is comprehensive and fairly straight forward to use, but requires flash player to run - not installed on my android tablet either.

My preferred method, after I upload photographs from my camera or phone to my PC, is to run a batch file from within Corel Paint Shop Pro, which automatically resizes my photographs, puts a white border around them and saves them to a different folder called "small pics". As the file name remains the same its easy to cross reference between the original and the smaller size.
I have done this for some time, as it makes upload times a lot quicker to all forums (YMRC included), and avoids any issues over image sizes.

I remember Toto having issues in the past loading from the MAC to YMRC, and ended up using Photoshop elements to resize his pics, again he was using a 18M pixel camera.

A cheaper solution may be to try the GIMP (free)

    https://www.gimp.org/downloads/

Available for the MAC, Windows and Linux platforms.

Glad to hear your enjoying the forum and hopefully the experience will get slicker and better as we get to grips with all the wee niggles.

    Paul

    Ok Keith

Not having a MAC to try this on, and without the G button try this

In your gallery, open the picture you want, then right click (or whatever the MAC equivalent is) to get the context menu and select copy image location.

Then in the "Post Reply" where you require the picture click on data:image/png;base64,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 button, and paste in the picture location.

    And voila.....

This may also be of help

It appears firefox is available for iOS both ipad and iphone, so you may be able to take the easy way out.

Hi Keith, sorry for coming in so late, I've sorted the Images in your original post for you. When you open the Reply box. . Do you see the Symbol That Paul is on about ? [IMG] If so then that option works Just open a second browser tab, log in again to the forum ( you can be logged in on two browser pages at the same time and in two different places 1 ) now navigate to your gallery and open the Image you want to post, Right click on the Image and 'Copy image Address'. . . .Switch Browser tabs to the reply box . . Click on the [IMG] 'Paste' into the URL box ( ignore the HTTP in the box it will disappear ) click save and. . . Done ! To add Another. . . Hit 'Enter ' twice and the do the same process again, adding text as you wish. when you finish post reply as normal
As for browsers. . . You Can add firefox to your Ipad or Mac just don't set them as default when they ask during installation. You can have more than one browser quite safely on your devices and when browsing on Platform1 simply click on the Firefox icon instead of the Safari Icon and say no any time it asks if you want to make it the default browser.
Don't worry mate I enjoy helping out its not a chore at all and good fun!I just need to steal a mac so I can do some testing

Again sorry guys, Completely missed this one till just now !
    cheers

    Matt
