First shade added, it's a bit fiddly but worth it.

At this point I dry brush the engineers blue again and also touch in the concrete lintels

Finally using some Matt black and a flat brush I dry brush the black all over to weather the brick work.
The colours I use for the individual bricks are
    Matt 82, matt100 & gloss 18.

Aye but we saw it before them :avatar:

That brickwork earlier was amazing the transformation when you applied the mortar was jaw dropping - the wife says I'm easily pleased.

Little job for my dad today adding transfers to his Heljan locos, plates from Shawplan and transfers from Railtec.

I couldn't agree more with Paul's comments regarding the painted brick, although I don't know if he really is easily pleased... :giggle:

I found this image today of Severn Tunnel East whilst trawling through some of my very old books... From what I read, this pic was taken not long after the official opening.

    Cheers, Gary.

Sadly the only reason I know about the Severn Tunnel, apart from this layout, was studying the causes of the tunnel crash for work

    Yes good shot that one,
An interesting story as well, not sure if it's true that's been lost in
The midst of time but notice the centre stone on the tunnel, well apparently a stone mason was to put the year of completion on it but apparently drank to much and didn't show up For work so it was put in place plane!!
It's a nice tail and one that's believable as most would have had the year carved in to it.

Beautiful brickwork, well worth all the time spent rocking backwards and forwards agonizing over the tiny bricks. The sleepless nights of wondering if you made the pattern too random or not random enough. Great Job!!
