At the quarry end of the site dump trucks bring the limestone out of the quarry and empty it into the primary crusher, here the ground is much rougher with odd lumps of limestone mixed with mud and fine debris. Here the area was again painted with a wash of thinned PVA as used for ballasting and a thicker layer of powder applied. It was then grooved with tyre tracks added by rolling the dump trucks through the mushy goo to simulate the trucks arriving, turning, unloading and driving straight back to the quarry again. Once dry the thick layer of limestone and PVA still on the truck tyres was chipped off and scattered around as debris, a thin coating being left on the tyres. An additional parking area is accessed via a crudely laid not-so-level crossing, good enough for heavy trucks to which has been added a qurarrymens mess hut, really rough and ready as bought many years ago. Just added a replacement stove stack and vent for the loo and well dusted the roof and veranda boards with limestone powder. What with the dust from the crusher, the lorries and the conveyor overhead it rains dust here. This hut is not on the original site plan but fits the site well and fulfils a need, all the buildings and accessories of the cement works have a purpose.
