Hi Toto, Giles was selling his tool for forming cobbles, might be worth contacting him. Here’s a link to his how to Kim
Thanks Paul, Just ordered up the two. Estimated arrival date 6th - 7th August. Hopefully they will make light work of the cobbles. Plenty to do to take me up to the arrival date anyway. Cheers Toto
Ha, and here's me thinking I had led you astray. well done Paul, cleared my conscience. Now I just have to hope it works ok, I don't fancy a rolled up ball of DAS coming my way.
Nahhhh ... It looks like a good result. There will always be a bit of trial and error with it. Looking forward to it arriving. Thanks again for the link.
My shapeways cobble rollers arrived today. They look ok. I'll get a photo or three up later. Cheers Toto
and here they are. first up the track insert roller ........ you can see the ridges to either outside which gives you the cut off to allow sufficient space for wheel flanges etc. next up is the plain roller for all other areas either side of the track ....... to me, it could have done with being slightly longer. Even an extra inch would have made all the difference but no big deal I'll give them a trial when I move onto baseboard two. cheers toto
nahhhhh .... I have every faith. Paul suggested putting a bar through the hollow centre , a bit like a rolling pin so that any pressure applied is on the bottom rather than the top. I may try that. It could make for the application of a more even downward pressure. What do you think ? Toto
I thought that also when I tried them out, it would certainly make them easier to use. Except of course if you are trying to use them too close to building etc. Kev
Hi Kevin, Yes, no good in close proximity to anything but still adaptable never the less. I'll give them a whirl when I open my next batch of clay. Fingers crossed. Cheers Toto
Maybe something like those mini paint roller handles would work, just need to sleeve it to suit the dia. Kev
