That does look neat soldering and another cracking little wagon i on its way. Are you building both at the same time or finishing the first one before doing the next one ? Just interested that's all.

It's good to see these kits being tackled and coming to life, I think that's what our hobby is all about in the making process.. RTR has its place but not for me really.

Well they have been lying there long enough and this lock down has really been the catalyst ....

Now .... some smaller detail parts .... slow things down a bit but the important thing is they are going on successfully ..... first up the coupling hook plate .... a bit fiddly ...

but the two are now in place.

Next .... horses haunals .... ( scottish for handles ) actually tethering points for towing .... another fiddly affair ....

    but they are on ...

    both of them.

I'm going in to bring a beer out .... think I deserve one ... then we will see whats next .... web plates, support irons and number plates I think ..... oh great.

    cheers for now

Got me beer ..... came back to the shed but I think I'll call it a night for the build. I just had a little triangular bracket go ...... kerching .... flying over the shed some where ... so I'll continue on the good fight tomorrow. :avatar:

Not really a bad shift as far as progress goes. I'm happy with it.

    cheers for now

I missed one of your posts Yorkie. I may just do the one at the moment and once i've done another couple of different builds, come back and do the second. just for variety really. its not a bad kit but there are a few little parts which I am still getting used to handling at the moment so would like a break from them every now and again.

    cheers

Same here Toto, I often get overfaced with doing the finicky little bits which seem like a chore particularly if there are multiples to do, a change is as good as a rest at that point but I crack on as the result is always very satisfying to see.

Now .... the brake gear was laminated ( 3 layers ) and was easier than i Thought it would be. well fluxed and just a teensy weensy tiny minute, barely even present ( i think you get the idea now ) ..... not much solder used.

and here we are sitting loosely in place at the moment.

    and another ......

Now .... the cast axle guards and wheels need to go in first in order to gett the spacing right between the brake gear and the wheels.

    thats next

    see you soon

    cheers

    Yes, I've got braver.

Finish this tomorrow and then move on to my next victim. Not sure what that will be yet as it might be a few days before my departmental coach arrives from Jim. I'll squeeze something else in meanwhile.

    Cheers
