It has came to a stall at the moment as I am still waiting for my delivery of suspension springs. they seem to be taking ages.

Well,

There we have it, my springs have just arrived sooooooo ..... we can get back on the case.

I'm still mid project on the coach build at the moment so it could be a day or two before I jump back onto this. The castings are nice though so I'm looking forward to getting them fitted.

I will need to take the main components apart again to swap them over but that was the point of waiting as when I do it this time, it will also let me give the various component assembly lies a final clean and prime coat parts.

Once it goes back together, I can assemble the brake linkages and take the whole 5hing to completion. I'm also going to give the axle ends where the wheels fit on a very light filling as they are ridiculously tight for getting the wheels on and off to the point they actually need prised off. So the word is .... a very light passing with a file to have a snug but manageable fit.

So much going on now ..... full steam ahead ..... let's get it done and up and running for the final time.

Well guess wot.

I'm going to use the excuse of the shelf queen competition to get this over the line.

I cant officially enter as I am the flounder and have a self imposed ban on competitions for obvious reasons ( I would win them all ) but I can reintroduce this build as a way of me running along side it and sort of being involved.

I'm not starting a separate thread as I already have this active ( almost ) thread going but will use it to flick between this and my current 4f build to tease both builds over the line and hopefully still add a bit of interest.

Who said I could not multitask.

I just need to ensure that I dont get the parts mixed up or I could end up with a 4 Ramsbottom.

I'm putting my head above the parapet again at the risk of having it blown off in a bid to get myself moving again after a couple of weeks of inactivity. ...... here goes.

 

I know and its partner the Ramsbottom crane version. The vision and purpose / reasoning is there to complete, I just need to push myself again and I'll be up and running. I'm working on it. I also need to get one Drury shunter packed and posted this week ....... any idea where it's going.
