G`day Gary & Toto, Toto the grey building was actually sent to me by Bittern ( Mick ). He was kind enough to take some pictures for me and send them on. Here`s another one of the same building, taken by Mick, from another angle. Can`t remember exactly where it was now.???? Gary your shot of the Bakers Arms and surrounds looks real. I gave you a tool ( Photofiltre) and you`ve certainly proven you know how to use it. Well done old son..... By the way did I ever mention to you the other free program I use called PosteRazor.??? http://posterazor.sourceforge.net/index.php?page=download If you build a background in Photofiltre that may be..??????...say 8 feet long if you could print it......PosteRazor will print it over 8 or 9 pages, or whatever you choose, with overlaps that allow you to trim it and paste it onto a back board and join it all up quite easily. It allows you to determine how big and how many pages you want and then it saves the file as a PDF. You then just print the PDF and there you have it. The long back scene on GCJ was done this way. It`s a series of A4 pages joined together and being plain paper you don`t get any shine off it either. I`m happy to give you a crash course if you want to try it, although it`s fairly easy to work it out. By the way......I think we visit the same texture sites....I`ve had this one for a while now http://www.clickGormo
I visited that pub on a different day... What's that written on the black board... Here's cheers to Gormo ! Cheers, Gary.
Nice photo's and the plain greyish sky keeps it easy to blend with others. looks good. If its still your shout ....... mines is a brandy. http://www.click toto
Howdy Folks, Long time no post any stuff.???? Well I`m still stealing time out in the shed.......I`ll be glad when things settle down a bit but I still have a way to go. Why is it that everything happens at once..???? Not to worry.....let`s talk trains!!!!.....I seem to be locked into developing my little village scene and bit by bit things are being added to it. I put down some tarmac the other day.....it`s just wet and dry paper slightly distressed but it gives a good result. I`ve got to do some lines and markings yet but all in good time. I need to do a little research as well to make it look right. Put another piece in on the left in front of the shop as well. You will notice on the right that the church has a front fence. The church yard was grassed and graveled and then the fence was put in. Other accessories like the post box and the phone box are fitted permanently. The church fence is 3mm MDF covered with a stone wall paper on top of which sits an old modified picket fence from yesteryear model railways. The bottom of the fence was trimmed off to sit flush on top of the stone wall. The tree behind the fence again is an old stock item that has had a makeover to make it look reasonable. Some flocking and hairspray works wonders. The church sign / noticeboard was created in my drawing program and printed out onto photo paper and then mounted on some card to give it some depth. Figures are being added as I move along through the works. Gravel paths have been added and one leads to a large gravel area around the corner of the church. Vehicles can park on the large gravel area. One wall still to be finished off below and some gates need to be made to fit the stone columns. The phone box as mentioned earlier, is permanently fitted. Cameos are now being created as we go along......" Honest constable, there was nowhere else to put the van!!!!" So there you are and to just add a little to the above you will find a short video below. Scenery Update on YouTube http://www.clickGormo
Some more pics. Love this one.....one of my best to date even if I do say so myself. Had to have my MGB in there as well!! More as it happens http://www.clickGormo
Coming along a treat Gormo, and I love the cars too ! Great Chesterford Police have it good ! Now, that little red MG.., I'm sure I have seen one of them before ! Has it extra cooling fans for the radiator ?? Ofcourse not, GCJ isn't set in Australia ! Cheers, Gary.
Thank you gents, Yes the lines are on Toto......they`re water colour pencil without using water......seems to scrub alright.?? Yes Gary, you may remember there`s a real version of the MG parked on the opposite side of the work shop. I keep all my toys in the one shed. Yes the cops have a nice old car too. The joint has to have a bit of class about it......let`s face it...the real Great Chesterford is a rather elegant little village and it`s just down the road from Saffron Waldon where the money lives.!!! I`ve been buying trees from China for ridiculous money and I`ll put up some pics when I get a chance. They are a good base for improvement and I`m confident they`ll work out really well. I hate to give my business to China but I feel some of our retailers here are taking advantage. I visited one such retailer today. I wanted to buy some little people. They offered me some very plain examples for background areas at AUS $20.00 for 50. They have been re-packed from a Chinese supplier similar to the link below Scroll down to the tenth item at AUS $ 4.49 http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/OO-Scale-Model-Train-Figures-and-People/180316/bn_1617379/i.html?_fsrp=1&_trkparms=pageci%3D0db9f8a0-d1c8-40e9-bdac-f99288ccb264%2Cparentrq%3D9d27891e1560a88361621a22ffff5415%2Ciid%3D1%2Cobjectid%3D180316 Now why would I buy almost the same figures from my local model supplier when I can buy twice as many for less than a quater of the price from my friend in China......go figure that one folks.????? Anyway.....I`ve got that one off my chest.....phew!!!!!! http://www.clickGormo

Pity I didn't know you were looking for figures (people) as I have a bunch of those figures in a bag in the spares drawer. I did find them to be a little on the flat side, but they are excellent for cutting down to size (cutting legs off) and using as passengers in coaches. Personally, I do like the Dapol figures. These lend themselves to cut n' shut, or for better words, a little amputation and rearrangement of limbs, heads etc, to produce some bespoke figures. You may remember this : http://yourmodelrailway.net/view_topic.php?id=12116&forum_id=21&page=7#p215464 Cheers, Gary.
That`s great....thanks Chris, Actually the trade guy could have parked on the church grounds and the constable is directing him to do so or face the consequences. Fair enough constable.!! Gary.....not to worry....I may order some from China. You are very handy with the scalpel. I would be tempted to create a two headed person or something equally ridiculous.....just to put in the background and see if anybody spots it. Actually I`ve just given myself an idea.. http://www.clickGormo
