Hi Again! Just a quick update this time to show off the corrected lighting in the truck - I put a bigger resistor in the circuit for the tail lights and re-positioned the white LED and fibre optics to make the headlights a bit brighter. Now I'm starting to wonder if I can do something with optic fibre to put some stars in the sky. Ian Attached files
Awesome, why don't you submit this into the cameo comp when you're finished? The bloke helping the driver reverse is a great idea, Ian. Reidy

Very nicely done One thing to be wary of, the LEDs will always appear brighter in a photo, but may be hard to spot in normal lighting. One way round it may be to change the supply voltage, for bright and dark conditions. An PC power supply will provide +12V (red), +5V (yellow) and +3.3V (orange), so keeping the same resistors see how bright the LEDs are swapping between voltage levels. Paul

HI Everyone! This layout now has a name! Garland. Why Garland you ask? Well, the loco that started this project is a Santa Fe GP30. The Santa Fe used to be the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe is the name of the big musical number at the start of a movie called The Harvey Girls. This movie stared Judy Garland (one of my favourite actresses) so Garland it is. Anyway, I made a video of some switching tonight with the lights set for a dusk time of day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COTaM_m9Ilw&t=45s I hope I have attached this link correctly. Ian Oh, I'm not sure how to do so could one of the moderators please change the name of this thread to 'Garland - HO Layout' ? Ian
I'm working on Rush City yard and I found this video quite inspiring, it's a typical shortline railroad!
