Great looking kits Ian. The Red Wing Milling building I had only just seen on a you tube clip last night. These kits are very well detailed. If you don't want them, you know where to send them... Cheers, Gary.
Nice list, I've got a couple of Walthers kits even though I'm modelling OO. A bit modification and they will be good. Cheers Toto
They look really good, especially the Atlas, you can easily double the length by fitting a false back. Paul
Another update. I've been playing around with parts of the kits I bought last week and doing some photo editing today. I think I've come up with a basic mock up that I'm happy with. I'll probably reduce the height of the middle building by one story for part or all of it's length to give a bit more variation and I think there could be an advertising sign on the right hand side of the road. Before I do too much more on the scenery though, I need to sort out the little fiddle yard extensions that go on the outside of the ends. Ian
Ian Is the bike shop finding a home ? It's looking very industrious and the back scene what an effect it gives I'm sitting waiting to go in for surgery what better way to pass the time than look at model train stuff I found a little 0-6-0 Steam switcher that is DCC fitted will have to bring it up for a test run
Thanks Toto and Chris. As it stands at the moment, I can't see the bike shop fitting in (it is also a bit too expensive at the moment so I think it will be staying on the shelf at the model shop). The motorcycle and sidecar will make it onto the road bridge and, seeing as it lights up, I think I will look at putting working headlights in any other vehicles along with street and yard lights for night time operation. Looking forward to seeing the 0-6-0 running too. Ian
Looking good Ian it's giving an impression of it being larger than it really is, enjoying the build. Cheers Ian vt
Comming together nicely Ian. A few posters on the ends of the buildings would look good. Really liking this Paul
Ian your at the stage now you need to start dedicating car locations, so as you build the structures you can customise them for the required car type. the siding ie coal dump point for the factory with coal drop between the rails Factory ie Door one,Door 2 etc for specific product in/out to make it more interesting. Covered factory loading point for car type "X" etc etc This is sure to be an interesting shunting arrangement esp with the limited run round Here's a pic of the little steam switcher I'll dust it off and bring it up on your train afternoon for a run. Hi Chris, Terrific model. Sounds like some therapeutic running sessions are about to get underway. Grab a couple of photos whilst your there and smuggle them out under the cover of darkness.

Toto wrote: Shhhhhhh not sure if Leadie69 is awake but here's the video of Ian's switching yard. It's 1:50am so should be safe he won't notice this This link above to the video show the moves required to get a car to the industry at the rear most spur. with the short runarounds and head shunt. We had a enjoyable afternoon shunting trains about on Ian's little layouts we got my NCE radio throttle linked to Ian's NCE system and had multiple Locos running in the confines of the yard starts to get complicated Attached files
Excellent shunting and a lovely GP-30. I'm tossing up between a GP-30 in Reading Lines livery or a GP-9 in New York Central System (Silver Streak) livery, both Bachmann and DCC fitted with dual action decoder, so they can be run on either DCC or DC... Decisions, decisions... Cheers, Gary. ps. "They are for Jack, honest Guv..."
Gary wrote: Hi Gary may be worth looking into the price differance between the DCC fitted and DCC ready as Ian found the Bachmann decoder produced a lot of noise from the motor and the head light function was "on" only in direction of travel May be worth getting the DCC ready ones doing the install yourself with a bit better decoder I'm sure Ian will let us know which Decoder he fitted NCE XXX Ian loco was nice and smooth running that's for sure and quiet http://www.click Thanks every one for the kind words on the video credit to Ian as well he was the driver.
