I managed to get the parts I needed to finish wiring the fiddle cassverser.
After a session in the shed putting the push buttons, socket and plug in place I now have a working fiddle yard, well, apart from number 2 road but that turned out to be a little bit of copper bridging the gap, soon sorted.

Now this was the first time I had been able to operate the layout as it was designed. Soon found the design was flawed
The first rain to pull into the station got stuck. The steps on the loco, my Jinty, were hitting the platform. I tried a different loco, my J94. That was ok but then the coaches hit the platform. I tried removing some of the edge but it looked a mess so this afternoon I have bitten the bullet and ripped the platform out and have started a new one.

At the moment the new platform is under some weights until the glue dries, then I shall re-cover the front with Scalescenes brick paper. Though the top I think I will do differently as the original had Scalescenes tarmac paper but after running out of ink for the printer I had to print off another page of tarmac and that came out a totally different colour.

    Anyway thats all for now.

    Cheer's, Pete.

Hi Andy. If it had just been a small area then I possibly could have got away with a repair patch but it was an area the full width of the platform and about 1 third of the platform length but it's academic now, I've ripped the whole thing out and made a new one which I'm in the middle of painting the top surface to look like tarmac and using talc' to give it some texture. Photos to follow when I'm happy with the result.

    Cheer's, Pete.
