On the cards Ron ....... don't know about the sound just yet as the 37 still awaits chipping and I'm still a bit nervous about that yet. However, the seed has been planted ...... they are out the box ...... that's a start. Now ...... imagine a couple of 24's another 25 some 22's a 29, a 15 a 16 and a 17. quite a spectacle. I feel an engine shed module coming on. cheers toto
Now you're talking Toto... a fest of green diesels, as I said more loco's than a private operator ... How about Toto Direct Rail Distribution.
Stranger things have happened and just to show how flexible we are ......... some more ...... you can never have enough Gronks ...... can you .... ? and lets not forget the steamies although I'm a little light on them ...... I have another 4-6-2 somewhere in LMS black but I put it somewhere safe. Hmmmm. hope you like cheers toto
Nearly forgot about these two ankle biters ..... both chipped but not programmed as yet. May just do that now on the rolling road ....... cheers toto
and last but not least ( I think ) the Hudswell Clarks. I have a couple of these. From memory the other one is in a red livery. They are not the best at coming apart and going back together as neatly. I found them a bit wanting. However, nice models all the same. cheers toto
That's a bigger collection than I remember !! Doesn't the Terriers and Hudswell Clarke come in BR green ?? So, who will be the lucky one to paint the brass 08's ?? Cheers, Gary.
What ever mug I can find daft enough to give it a go Gary ..... yeeeeeeees ...... Gary ..... old buddy old chum. I've programmed the two Terriers. Both are working away fine but I'll maybe need to give them a bit of a service as they are a bit hesitant at times. Especially in reverse. The track needs a good scrub as well which wont help either. I have chipped one of my Hudswell Clarks but no joy. The NCE system is not reading the decoder. They were tested in DC and ran fine on the rolling road. Its a Zen 6 pin decoder with stay alive. Not a peep so it will require further attention. On the back burner for now. I'll have a look and see if there are any other easy jobs to tackle first. cheers toto
There are two Fowlers as well Gary. Paul and I cornered the market with them. I'd like to see them well beaten up and weathered. Private industry shunters. Plenty rust with some real physical damage inflicted. I think that's about it though apart from the kits. I'd like a nice big steamie to have to just trundle through the layout but they are serious bucks for something decent. Nearly had a Bachmann Brassworks Flying Svotsman many months ago but I thought again. Minted as well. Once the 4 F's are built and painted they will look the part. Could be waiting a while for that though. Cheers Toto
Fitted the decoder into the Hudswell Clark and ........... nowt. .... the NCE would not recognise the decoder. A six pin Zen decoder. I opened it back up and turned the chip around ...... hey presto. Perfect. So n
and the video ? If the fowler, 08's and J94 all work ok, then you've cracked short wheel base loco's, try the 37 or Deltic with a chip as these are the largest of your locos, so if these are ok then I'd say you've cracked it. You could always paint the track / rail just as a break form testing, then of course, you will need to do more testing to make sure you have cleaned the track properly Paul
I'll try chipping the Deltic. At least I don't have to think about dealing with a sound chip there. Also the Hymek. The class 25 worked fine. Toto
Just don't chip it too hard, you'll be accused of over using the hammer... As for painting the track, great time to get that airbrush out. Start on the sleepers first, then do the rails. Cheers, Gary.
Wow you're cracking on there Toto! Its great to see your hard work has paid off mate. The difference painting the track makes is great. Then the ballasting is the icing on the cake, it brings the layout to life and inspires the creative juices for the rest of the scenics. Keep up the good work . Pete.
I thought you had the only two examples of gold plated gronks, or is that fools gold plated. Usually people tend to have more wagons / coaches than loco's, but our Toto likes to be different
And a card on the doorstep today from postman pat which I suspect is one of my Steve Beattie loco deliveries. I'll find out in the morning. At mumsies for dinner tomorrow after work so won't get on until a bit later ( loosely translated means no shed time ) then Thursday night, Lulu has me at my training classes so it'll be Friday night at the earliest when I get the chance to start my Deltic decoder fit. If successful, I'll attack the Hymek next and my second Hudswell Clark. The class 37 can wait until I'm super brave. I'll get back onto the layout build as I've had a we break now. Maybe the goods shed build a bit more track testing before ground cover commences. That will be me well and truly out of my comfort zone. Cheers Toto
Looked out the zen Buddah in readiness to threaten my Deltic with it this weekend. I reckon if life were like a scene out of toy story, my Deltic would be offski. Poor thing would be quaking in its bogies. Cheers Toto
Well, Friday tomorrow thank the Lord. I should be back in business in the shed. Time to take the Hymek apart and get cracking with the Zen Buddah decoder. Should neither take too long or be too difficult if the class 55 is anything to go by. I still have to revisit that as well and install an extension on a couple of the internal wires to make it a more comfortable fit. Also whilst the lights do work, they don't work quite as they should so I'll take a look at that as well. Once I get that done then it's time to tackle the 37 sound install. Getting brave ehhhhh. Cheers Toto
