Having done repairs on some of the real things, with a little work, it could actually be small repair panels inserted. (The grey line) as the bottoms tend to rot upwards. So all is not such a c@ck up as you may think. Andy
Hi Matt, pooh happens, a few expletives and I move on, if it was all easy we would get bored with it and find some other enjoyable annoyance Jim
Hi all, despite the setbacks, I've made rapid progress. One aspect of my other van I wasn't happy with was the veranda doors. As the come, they're really thick and glazing such small openings is a faff to say the least...which is why I didn't bother, but then regretted. This time, I remade the doors from clear plastic sheet and built the frame around it - much easier doing the glazing this way! Note the blueness is the protective film that hadn't been removed from one of the doors. Once I fit the handrails, I can move onto the painting. Matt
Fantastic work. Spent many an hour on the full size thing! One winter in early 1997 we had the stove glowing red! It was so hot when we came back the rubber bucket on the opposite side of the van that was full of the coal had melted ! It had a nice V down the front
This has taken longer than I thought to get to the painting stage, mainly because I had a few problems with the (new) roof. The inner ends have been basecoated in grey and the yellow stripe has had a quick white undercoat. Matt
The recycled Vanwide has been painted and weathered. Just needs markings to complete... Also started this Fruit Van, early stages of construction so far... Matt
