The boss has just OK'd my buff day pressie. Ebay purchase of Connoissuer Models Starter loco kit of Polly / Nellie. Hopefully will arrive for the weekend - but I'll have to wait a while before I can have it It will get named as Nellie, as my Grandma was named Sarah-Ellen, and always got called Nellie. Paul
Aye it will need one of those too - maybe next year, still probably finished before yours . I will have a read of the instructions - you know, those funny markings on the bits of paper included in the package, and see if I can fit a fly wheel into the loco. Paul
Looks like we have a race On I think you could have a build session together. That way any tricky bits can be solved They say it's a started Kit but they make very nice models Enjoy you Birthday Pressy Paul
looks good Paul - fold up chassie the white metal fittings look cleaner than mine ////-- if we all start at the same time - we can all moan together - swear just a few naughty words -- but yes happy birthday Paul
Got to wait until the end of August for my birthday, that will give me time to get the motor and gearbox ordered, and I suppose two traversers and an OO layout fixed. Paul
They do go together rather well Paul. Follow the instructions carefully though, they are many little traps one can fall into. Mine is almost ready, just need to form the roof and fix it on. Trickiest bit is forming the smoke box wrapper.
Thanks very much. If I can fit one then I will get a motor with a double ended shaft, otherwise I'll get a single shaft version. Cheers Paul
A three way build ........... Sounds good. pick a weekend, start the build and update the threads with the progress. Seperate the men from the boys .......... I've booked at table in the boys section. Toto
Check this one out Paul. Some useful guides here. http://p1mrc.com/p1mrc/view_topic.php?id=816&forum_id=51&page=1
Just read it again myself. A very good thread to have in place as you are building the kit. Great reference point. Cheers Toto
Having had a good look inside mine Paul I don't think a fly wheel will fit so you could probably get away with a single sided motor.
Cheers, thats that dilemma sorted then Now the boss has gone to bed I'll order up the motor and gear box Paul
Cannon 1833 motor and Roxey Mouldings 40:1 gear box on order, I have the loco crew, so all the bits are coming together. Paul
