Just as a comparison

The top sleeper is the Burmese Teak

    The middle is untouched

The bottom is antique country pine

Notice that the Teak ones were put in the lare over a week ago and are still drying out (stains on the paper).

    Still waiting for my chairs

The Burmese Teak look good to me, whereas the Antic Country Pine look a lot like new sleepers.

That is one optical illusion going on there as well. I'm guessing all sticks are the same width ?? :scratchchin:

As for those chairs, haven't you started printing them yet... :avatar:

    Cheers, Gary.

No optical illusion, the un-stained one is from a different supplier (140mm long 5mm wide, whereas the others are 178mm long 6.5mm wide), but saved me having to go out to the shed to get one of the same batch for the photo.

Any one know if C&L finescale are still trading, I ordered the chairs etc on the 15th Dec, and made the payment (which has to be by bank transfer !!!!!), when the status a few days later was still at Processing, I filled in the contact us part of the web site, no rep[ly, but now we were in the run up to Christmas, then I did spot a post saying they were off until the 8th of Jan - fair enough I thought. So still no reply to the contact request, I tried to phone the number - several times, still no response, and sent another contact request, and still no response after 4 days.

In the contact request I only asked for confirmation of payment, not even if the goods had been dispatched. Thank goodness I only ordered £43 worth of stuff.

Not a happy customer or is it victim.

Well Gary's suggestion of 3D printing my own may well be worth looking in to.

    Not a happy bunny

I've just lifted this from the new website, the old C&L now trade as a one man band called Track Building Systems. Hope this helps. Oh BTW just checked my chair stock and I have no P chairs (slide chairs for switch ends) and only a few L chairs (the square base ones used at joints where space is restricted). But as I say you are welcome to the others if you get stuck.

This includes our popular easy build ‘Turnout in a Bag kits' that comes with everything you need to build prototypical looking point add to this our range of flexi track. All of the component parts and templates can be supplied separately. I am currently working through the back log orders recieved before Christmas, some of the orders have been waiting material which is now to hand, VAT return which has taken all of my free time over the Christmas and New year has taken longer than expected thus delaying planned visits to suppliers, so I will be away from the office for Wednesday and most of Thursday. On my return I will be preparing for the Stevenge show. I am suspending the arrangement for the time being of orders to be collect at show as this has had a big impact on my time when I should be restocking the stand their are some exceptions to this rule by arrangement. Due to adminstration error we will be miissing the Stafford Circle show this year, unless space can be found. Still no luck getting any response from C&L, but following on from a suggestion for the Peco Individulay, I have placed an order with Gaugemaster for 3 packs of 100 std chairs and 1 pack of slide chairs. We'll see how it goes.

I've noticed they also do V's and point blades, but these need to be ordered, so I will see how I get on with the chairs first.

A cursory look on other forums reveals mixed responses about the current C&L situation, some say that Phil is doing his best others say the problem is C&L are booking to attend far too many shows, the result means as a one man show he is falling short attending to business as doing shows take upwards of 3 days a week. I need to make a B8 crossover road for part two of my Elton Project but will wait until I see him at York, frustrating I realise but who else makes really accurate bull head chairs? Personally speaking Paul I wouldn't start building up any point and crossing configuration until I had all components to hand.
    cheers York Paul

I will try a test turnout and length of track with the Peco bits, if nothing else to try and get the V and blades done. Otherwise I will need to use Peco flex and points to build a plank, or go back to Viccy Road (OO gauge) and relay the rear track. The intention was to build an O gauge plank - possibly based on the Guilds £100 layout article in the welcome pack. But if I'm not going to be able to get a running layout for Elgin, then Viccy Road may have to have the time spent on it instead.
