Hope to finish the shed base today as the new shed arrives tomorrow (just right for the freezing, Northerly gales we're expecting!!) Will add some photo's after the weekend (weather permitting!) CheersRon
Best of luck with the weather Ron, fingers crossed for you to get a break, so you can make some good progress on the build
Well good afternoon's work, shed base nearly finished. Just some end boards to screw down tomorrow morning, no idea what time the shed arrives!!Anyway I used a new (to me!) way of levelling and securing the base using 18" spikes and 14 levelling platesand have included some photo's that are self explanitary (I hope!) CheersRon
Not a happy bunny, half way through putting the shed up and it's throwing it down!! Floor is wet, hope it will dry OK? IMG_0904Build1 by RON CLARKE, on Flickr[/img] Ron
No Paul! Shed is almost finished, just the corners and roof edges to do. It stopped raining long enough to get the roof and felt fitted! !The contents of the tent are mostly for the shed, including the Weybourne layout which is in 4 pieces. Will post up a photo when it's complete and the insulation begins!! CheersRon
(For Tom!) Finished the 12'x7' shed this afternoon and started the insulation I'm using the same product I used at the old shed namely 'Therma Wrap'.I ran out of daylight today and as yet no electric fitted! Lovely big shed Ron. Are you doing the electrics before you sheet the inside? You could bore through the uprights and run your cables inside the walls. No cables or conduits in the way Looks the biz.
Yes Tom, great minds think alike!!http://www.click Foil, electrics, membrane and cladding. Got to be careful though, 101 jobs to do in the house!! CheersRon
Looking good Ron, On my shed, I installed a small consumer unit with a earth leak and mcb, then ran a ring main arround the shed (I placed a double socket approx every 4ft), connected to a 10A fuse, and a separate lighting circuit to a 5A fuse. The connection to the house is using caravan 16A cable with a fused socket fitted to the house external wall. Paul
I did that on the last shed as well so I will do the same here Paul, just have to sort out a 'garden' socket from the house first! CheersRon
Insulation nearly done and guttering added to the back of the shed.. (ready for the rain/sleet tonight!) IMG_0928Insulation3 by RON CLARKE, on Flickr[/img] CheersRon
Looking nice and snug, and you don't even need a foil hat Are you going to insulate the floor ?, and will you be taking bookings Paul
Hi Ron, be careful with what you put on the floor, it needs to be able to breathe, I use a piece of carpet given to me and its toasty in there, have you made sure air can circulate under the shed? which by the way looks great, can,t wait to see how you get on with the reinvention of Weybourne. Cheers, Pete.
Yes Pete, gaps all the way round the floor base. I thought about carpet as I have a lot spare from the house move! CheersRon
