I get the feeling that I could be in for a weekend of track cleaning this weekend ...... dont know whats come over me.......... any idea Gormo. toto
Don't forget to dust off the video camera ! Looking forward to a doco on 'Raccoons In Their Natural Environment' !! Cheers, Gary.
...... Yes, There is a bit of a hustler amongst us. He's gently pushing and prodding. all will become clearer shortly. Cleaning .... Yes.... Now where is me marigolds Have a nice day all. Toto
Well, I thought I'd dust down this old relic from yesteryear. The R & GLR. Two things need to happen to get this old codger off its knees. A loco fest running in session and a tour of the layout with Gormo's track cleaner. I have buried myself in other projects of late between wagon building, potential paints hop duties and brass etched kits builds but I thought I may try and push the boat out and get something running as promised months ago in order to get the juices flowing on the R & GLR again. So it's get the holidays over, kick off with a brass etched kit build or two, an attempt at painting / weathering and then it's back to the R & GLR again with the long awaited turnout fit tout that needs done. It's the layout that kicked it all off for me so maybe it's time to try and resurrect it and get some progress going. The promised kits first just to get me going and then back to a bit of R & GLR time. Gormo, you'll see that cleaning wagon going yet and the pair of raccoons as well. Cheers Toto
There you go Toto.......two magic words....Bacon & Donuts......and you`re away.!!!!! By the way, how`s that shed of yours holding up.......is it high and dry.....has your repair work been successful over the now long term.???? http://www.clickGormo
Hi Gormo, the shed is as dry as Gandhi's flip flop. i have never seen the slightest trace of dampness or water ingress what so ever. Confidence is high cheers toto
Excellent news!!! A job well done......bring on the dancing girls with the bacon and the donuts. http://www.clickGormo
It sure is. I was just discussing with Paul the need to resurrect the R & GLR and get going again. I think I am now in a better position to do it. One or two smaller projects over the coming month or so to get the o gauge out my system a bit then get my life project back on the rails. cheers toto
Ah!!!! The old layout in the shed. Some of these new members won`t know what`s hit them when you resurrect the old layout. There have been volumes written about this layout in the past and they`ve missed all that. It`s epic when you think about it.....the shed rebuild and your issues with Dopey the builder. The layout redesign on a few occasions. The control panel straight out of London Paddington. The cassette fiddleyard. The wiring??????......and on and on it goes. All that work and effort deserves to be showcased once again. http://www.clickGormo
And it shall be. I think it made a good community thread when at its busiest. Everyone popped in for a coffee.
I will be waiting too see some progress Now that your a Rubber Gauger it gets even harder to decide what your going to work on. The best bit is if you get to a point and you need to find a better way of doing something or just get a little tired of the boring bits you can just put to one side and go on with another project all fresh then come back to the old project a little wiseror enlightened and get on with it again Looking forward to seeing some 37 running
Hi Chris, It's the usual , projects I'm not short of ........ It's time. Same as everyone I suppose. However, 37's you shall see.
Now this should be interesting - at least Toto's 33 wont be subjected to another near death experience. Kimbo at least had an excuse with morris the flyer, but the 33 was supposed to be safe on the rails Paul
