Well posting will be limited this evening as win10 has decided that I hadn't suffered enough over the last couple of weeks and has decided to upgrade my pc 1 hour later and were 25% done Luckily the 3D printer is standalone Paul
2 hours for the win10 update - and 3 hours into the print and it's only 52% completed don't think the second one will be started tonight
That happened to me the other day Paul, It was as slow as a wet week updating the laptop, so I left it on all night and went to bed. The next morning it was all done without any perceivable difference and I`m sitting there thinking what was all that about.????.......not happy Windows. So that`s why I`m still looking at going into a Linux system. My PC seems to block whatever I do though when I try and install, so I`m going down to the local computer guy and see what he can do. http://www.clickGormo
How did the fitting turn out then. Did you get one completed ok overnight ? This is going to be impressive once it's all together. Not to mention a bit unique. Cheers Toto
Approx 6 hours to print - second one started to print, but I seem to have a problem with the x axis stepper motor. Think I've traced it to a dodgy wire in the loom - so a rewire may be in order - freeing off the cable seems to have cured the issue to allow me to print the second bracket. These will be mounted to the base of the traverser table. Paul
It`s going to be quite a professional build once it all comes together. Toto will be beside himself with joy watching that traverser traverse, but don`t let him soup it up Paul, keep the speed down, remember the V8 lawnmower...?????? http://www.clickGormo
I was going to ask, does it do wheel spins ? if that wire deteriorating was down to heat Paul, perhaps you ought not to leave it printing over night unattended ? It could be a fire hazard. Be careful. The finished product looks the part. Well thought out.
Good point there Toto about leaving the machine going all night...... I think he`s right there Paul.....careful mate... http://www.click Gormo
second bracket printed - 5h30min. So a wee bit of assembly can take place Now to set up the other side Paul
and there's more ..... Bracket installed and the other one Now over to the electronics - Toto as you have had your arduino kit for a few weeks now, you should be able to do this bit yourself Paul
yeah ....l. Just wot I was thinking but I wouldn't want to spoil your fun ....... Steal your thunder so to speak........ Carry on ....... I'll keep you right. Cheers ..... Great thread. Toto
First pass at the circuit diagram - while Toto brushes up on his programming skills Although I think it will need modifying as his lordship would like manual push buttons as well - if he can programme it I'll add the buttons Now I just have to make it. Paul
