I am trying to upload a photo from my computer into a new thread but keeps saying to large to upload. Before trying I resized to 800x 600 as per other forums but doesn't seem like it wants to know ?

We have a " how to " thread on how to use the gallery at the top left of the front page under Common thread links. have a wee read at that as it explains the process better than I would be able to explain it. Our gallery software should automatically resize your images but I usually do my own first in photo shop elements as its a workflow I got used to when doing photography in the past.

Let me know how you get on and if you are still having issues after you have read the thread, i'll try and get someone to explain things a bit more clearly. once you have mastered it ....... you wont look back, its quite easy once you know how.

    thanks for your perceiverance meanwhile

Thanks for that it would appear that you should be able to load photos direct into a thread without creating an album . Tried again but still wouldn't work I will try to create an album tomorrow and see if that works .

    Time for bed

I had that problem with a couple of photos. I saved them under a different name (no changes other than the new name), tried uploading them again and it worked. Don't ask me why though.

I use an iMac, and I have to resize to 800x600 before attempting to upload, but it has to be from "My Pictures", as for some reason, it won't let me upload from "Photo's" on my iPhone, iPad or the iMac. Having said that, I'm hardly the most 'computer savvy' person, so there might be an easy way, but I haven't found it yet!

I have to confess that all mine are hosted on Flickr so I just paste links across multiple forums without issue.

Apologies I have been unable to help so far as I am just back in from work .... yes ..... I must do It unfortunately. :avatar: I load all mind from my laptop ( pc ) and have no issue. Resized through elements then uploaded to the gallery before taking them to an individual post.

If there is an issue though, I need to look at it .

Not a problem ,it appears to accept those loaded from my mobile via the laptop (but loads two at a time):(:(. Which I then edit out . Its strange as it loads some from the main computer which are taken with the mobile but not others .I can live with it until I find a solution which must be something at my end .

What mobile are you using? And how are you uploading? Are you using the “upload a file” button below? (Between “Post reply” & “More options..” when composing a reply)

That should allow up to 10 photos per post.

Then once it’s added, click the full image button.

Hope that’s shouldn’t be an issue. I’m on iPhone. I would expect it’s similar for android?

    Hi Andy
Its a Android MotoG4 I transfer the photos to the computer or laptop into pictures folders . I have then tried to upload into a new forum topic by the upload a file which directs me to my computer picture folder , select the photo press open and get the message file to large . As I said earlier in the post I usually edited the size to 800x600 ,I have even reduced in size but doesn't seem to make ant difference . The strange thing is that it will load some but not others ,I can only think its the way they are being originally formatted in my picture folder. Having said that I have never had a problem loading to other sites . :(:(:(
    Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Have you tried (subject to your access etc) uploading direct from your phone? Rather than save to the computer first?
